If you're heading up I35E, keep an eye out for the exit! Even if you accidentally pass it, you can still reach the campground via the subsequent street. Make sure to familiarize yourself with the roads and whether your vehicle can handle them. This campground, created by the COE in the 60s or 70s, offers a 50% discount on overnight fees with an annual federal park pass, which also covers any entrance fees. The standard price is $30 per night at this location. Every site is equipped with a level grill, fire pit, electricity, water, and a covered picnic table. There's also a station for draining tanks. One downside of my spot was the proximity of the dumpster, but luckily it was recently emptied and didn't smell. The campground has spacious, open sites with ample distance between each. There's a good mix of shaded and sunny areas, ideal for things like Starlink access. The trees are well maintained to prevent damage to your RV. It's peaceful here. I managed to secure last-minute, mid-week reservations through their website without any issues. The staff at the entrance booth are friendly. They permit delivery services like UPS, FedEx, and Kroger to enter the park, but they must have your site number to deliver to you. Note that the entrance booth does not accept deliveries. The bathhouse, while somewhat old and in need of minor repairs, was clean. The shower I used had a recently replaced shower head. The campground also offers easy access for those with disabilities.

I opted to give this location a shot as it was conveniently situated near my residence and was available on short notice. The staff was amicable, although their knowledge of other local sites seemed limited. My camping spot was lakeside, offering ample room and shade. However, there was a notable amount of noise from other campers that inexplicably seemed to travel far. Despite this, I found the atmosphere to be tranquil and the other campers were generally sociable. The spots located further from the lake were rather mundane, with most situated in expansive fields. The one downside I noted was the limited number of bathrooms within the camping area, which were spaced quite far apart from each other. Additionally, the bathrooms were outdated and required some minor refurbishments. Overall, it was a positive experience.

Situated in close proximity to highway I 35E, the park is easily accessible via a well-paved road. It is marked by clear signposts and offers an efficient and friendly check-in process. The park regulations are simple and straightforward. The roads within the park are also paved and well-maintained. Our allocated spots, 08 and 29, were asphalt back-ins that comfortably accommodated our Coach and Towed. The services provided, including 30 amp and water, were conveniently located on the left side. Despite being an urban park, the spacing between the sites was decent. A few sites even had vegetation barriers for privacy. Each site was equipped with a table on a concrete patio and a fire pit. The terrain of our site was flat and even. The park, on the whole, was clean and well-kept. However, it lacked amenities like park-included wifi or cable TV. We were able to find a variety of OTA channels, but satellite reception might be challenging. We didn't utilize the washrooms or showers, but upon inspection, they appeared clean and modern. The park features walking trails and boat launch facilities. While there are no eateries or shops within walking distance, a short drive will lead you to food, shopping, and convenience stores. We found the park to be an excellent base for exploring local attractions. At $30.00 per night, we believe it offered great value for money. We will certainly return if we find ourselves in the vicinity again.

Convenient place to stay when visiting family. Rate reflects Senior Discount. Large Sites with good privacy between sites that are in the trees, not as much privacy for the lakeside spots. Third time we've stayed here for family visits and I'm sure we'll be back. There is a lot of highway noise from I-35, so it's a trade-off for the convenience of the location. We saw a lot of deer and lots of birds.

Overall, very nice visit. No issues to check camera check out. The roads are paved, the camp spots are fairly level. We saw lots of different sizes of RVs and campers. We were in our Airstream Basecamp 20X, and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The map says that there is a nature trail to walk around, but we never found it.

A perfectly tranquil spot just minutes south of Denton home of TWU and UNT. The park was a great spot to call home for 2 weeks.

A great camping spot, close to home. Spots are mostly level, and very clean, although fire ring could use a bit of work. The only thing missing here is some good hiking, but the park is large enough to at least a 2 mile walk in without backtracking. You hear planes and a bit of traffic but not too loud.

Nice place to stay! Lots of trees. Sites open with paved parking pad. Toilet & showers nearby. Each site has own electric, water, picnic table, grill, and fireplace with grate. Can hear the freeway, but it’s not too bad. Didn’t keep us awake. Beautiful lake!! Would stay here again.

Lewisville TX Hickory Creek Park COE on Lewisville Lake Open year round. Just over 100 paved sites most with lakeviews. Also have primitive walk in sites by lake. May 1 to Sept 30 14 day max stay other times can extend 14 more days!Be ware that gate closes from 10pm to 6am and there is no code access! Sites are w/e and all have new 50 amp. Grills and fire rings along with covered picnic tables. Modern bathhouse with large shower stalls. Nice boat ramp and boat trailer parking. There are several nature and walking trails as well as paved roads for bike riding. I have Verizon and was able to call and text but not use internet in camp. Town is short 5 minutes away. There's restaurants, shopping and theater close by.

We loved our stay at Hickory Creek! The park is large and many sites are right on Lewisville Lake. Even though you're close to grocery stores and restaurants you feel very immersed in nature. Park is very well maintained though the bathhouse are a little dark - could use upgraded lighting. Would definitely stay again!

We stayed at this ACE campground while we sold our house in Dallas. Great shaded spots for the most part, space between sites and some good waterfront sites. Spot 25 was very muddy after some rain so plan accordingly for that one. It also is next to the walking path that winds throughout the campground. Good gravel sites, but be prepared to level. When we go back to Dallas, we would stay again.

Loved this campground and would definitely try to reserve spot 53 again. It was a long, concrete pad, that was just slightly unlevel. Was easily fixed with just one block. The area opening up to our door was huge and led right to the water. There was a nice covered picnic table, fire ring, and grill. I was able to take chairs right to the water and just relax while listening to the waves. All the spaces were far apart and I never heard a single neighbor the entire time. Great biking and walking trails! Not a single negative thing to say about this campground. Would easily recommend it to everyone!!!

Had a great time at Hickory Creek staying in spot 88 and then two weeks later in spot 7. Campground is well maintained and spacious. Great first experience In our new TT. There is road noise in 88 and airplane noise in 7. Saw deer and met some nice camp hosts. Definitely I’ll be back.

We chose Hickory Creek Campground due to its location and great reviews. This campground is one of the busiest COE campgrounds we have ever visited, but it is also quite large! The location is great, close to groceries and other amenities. One negative is the gate situation, you cannot enter the park after 10pm, no gate code even for campers. The gate reopens at 6am. Not a huge deal, but we did have to be aware of that when we visited some friends that were about an hour and a half away. Site 56 is a corner site with a large campsite side and no sites directly behind you. We would stay again if we were in the area.
