The cost per night at Good Sam used to be $46, however, the new proprietors have raised it to $85. Their system was offline, hence I had to phone them, which incurred an administrative charge of $10. The fresh management has initiated numerous enhancements. The owner is amiable and pleasant, however, the rates are quite steep until the modifications are completed. The washrooms are tidy yet fairly dilapidated. The camping area is compact, hence there isn't much space for strolling. Plot 17 is adjacent to the river, which adds to its charm.

My experience at this site taught me that it's currently being managed by new proprietors. They're making numerous updates and enhancements to the premises and its administration. The personnel are extremely cordial and supportive. Its location is perfect, adjacent to the river and near the city center. I'm definitely planning a return visit!

Despite all the comments about rules and regulations (which they send to you when you get your reservation…and most are just common sense/community based regulations) the river spot we had was wonderful. Fun to watch kayakers, tubers, and flyfishing guides float on by. We did not really interact with the camphosts at all except on arrival. Being close to the river drowned out the highway noise (I’m sure spots closer to road could hear it though). Apparently owner was out of town, so there was not any music while we were there, so I cannot comment on noise levels at night. Fun mountain bike trails on nearby Methodist Mountain (teen and adults group rode on Racetrack to Little Rainbow to Solstice down—great intro to trails in Salida)…easy bike ride to trailhead and also into town. The only negatives: building a bit dated (but clean!) and the random lighting on the power boxes was annoying since the place was so peaceful at night …would be nice to enjoy those colorado starry skies.

Bummer. Nice location on river but all the rules and constant visits from management ruined for us. Had management come knock on our door after 9pm for no good reason. Then they were back bothering us at 7am! The owners played loud karaoke type music till late at night even with nobody listening. Never had such a bad experience at a park before. Real shame but owners are really bad.

Enjoyed our stay here...as spot 21 by the river I think is the best spot in the campground....So close to the river....Caught a few Browns as the water was a little dark due to the rain.. scheduled a repeat visit in May 23 as the spots by the river fill up fast....Nice owners....cell service was ok...

Love Salida and this was close to town and had great views of the river! Wish we stayed a couple extra nights. Will definitely go back! They are very strict here, you MUST follow the rules.

Smaller, private RV park on the river. Lots of rafters. Well managed, patrolled. Everybody seems to follow the rules. Dogs are leashed. Owners sing on the weekends, provide entertainment. 30 amp only. A few class A, mostly trailers. Arrival was easy. Showed us to our spot.

Due to COVID19 restrictions, many of their facilities were closed. However, self check in was easy and appreciated. Someone was always available by phone. Our first night we spent in C5 near the highway. $46/night. Not a great site, but a big pull through was fine for 1 night. We asked to be moved the second night as the noise from the Class A next to us all night was awful - a heater of some kind kept firing up and down all night long. It was loud and obnoxious. Site R15 was much better but did come with a higher price tag $66/night - right next to the river and a large back in site. Laundry facilities available. Wifi was abysmal, but we bring our own hot spot anyway. Did not come into contact with any staff or ownership, so I can't speak of previous reviewers being upset with poor customer service. We would stay here again.
