Fairly open campground on the banks of the Murray River near Mannum. Great little spot if you need or want to be right on the river, with boat ramp access. It is definately not the most secluded of sites and you will likely be sharing it with other campers however quite comfortable.
Birchmont
A great spot suitable for caravans right on a white sandy beach on the eastern side of Harvey Estuary. There are basic facilities and flushing toilets. This spot is popular during the peak season (Easter long weekend especially) and day visitors chasing the blue swimmers.
Corop
Free camping on the edge of a semi-natural lake between Echuca and Shepparton, VICThere is a central toilet block, playground and barbecues, and the camping area is along the shore for about 1km either side of this.
Walhalla
Temporarily Closed - Campground in the historic town of Walhalla, suitable for caravans. This is a very large, and grassy campground, and is very popular during the warmer months. There is plenty of room here though.

Previously Berry Jerry State Forest, now part of Murrumbidgee Valley National Park. Camping no longer encouraged. Bush camping on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River, with no facilities.
Dispersed camping on broad beaches by the Murray River, surrounded by flood plain forest - River Red Gums, billabongs and swamps. Prolific bird life. Distant, background highway noise. Forges No 1 Beach is broad and large, partially grassed with WC, but open with little shade.
Riverside campground suitable for caravans about 20 minutes from Bathurst NSW. The area is quite large and open with plenty of well maintained grass for pitching a tent.
Paddys River
An open grassed area beside the Tumbarumba–Tooma Rd, 18 km south of Tumbarumba. You can swim and fish here; and in the area mountain bike and bushwalk. Bring your own firewood. When reviewed (Jan 2015), it was packed with all types of vehicles, so it is popular.
Lerderderg
Camping is no longer permitted atObriens Crossing, as it is now a day use are. The closest camping is now Lederberg Campground, 5km away.
Kevington
Extended, narrow, level flats by the Big River, well shaded by Southern Blue Gum and Peppermint with tea-tree understory secluding many sites. Popular at peak periods. Rated 4. 4/5 Surrounded by steep forested slopes. AccessThis campsite is accessable with regular 2wd vehicles.
Dergholm
Very comfortable campground amongst the ancient and rare green granite rocks and eucalypts. This campground is vety spacious and has well grassed tent sites and plenty of shade.
Moonambel
Also known as Mountain creek. Camping in the Picnic Area near the town of MoonambelBasic facilities with long drop toilets, picnic tables and plenty of trees for shade. It is just out of town, and was empty the last couple of times I stayed here.
Laidley Heights
Well established campground run by council on the edge of Lake DyerLake Dyer is a stocked impoundment (so QLD fishing licence is required). It is stocked with Bass, Yellow Belly, Silver Perch and Cod.
Licola
Small riverside caravan park on level, well grassed (mown) green flats above the Macalister River in a narrow valley. Modern facilities. Hot showers Limited shade. Adjacent to general store/pub/fuel stop/post office.
Mount Richmond
Pleasant riverside camp overlooking the winding gorge of the wide and deep lower Glenelg River. The furthest upstream vehicle accessible site within the Park. Bush setting with reasonable shade from Brown Stringybark Gums. Both sites are level, grassed and reasonably large, separated by shrubs.
Waitpinga
In coastal mallee scrub, a short stroll from the beach, suitable for tents and camper trailers. Waitpinga Beach There is a walking track Waitpinga Beach (about 600m) or you can drive / walk down Dennis Road about 1. 3km to the carpark at the end of the road.
Johanna
A grassy, open undulating area behind sand dunes facing farmland. Near a popular, remote surfing beach, backed by steep hills. One small site near the Park entrance has some shade from old cypress trees and a flush WC.
Princetown
Closest campground to the 12 apostles with powered and un-powered sites, hot showers, and free barbecues. The Princetown Recreation Reserve and Camping is located 6km east of the 12 Apostles, adjacent the Gellibrand River. It is the perfect central base for sightseeing along the Great Ocean Road.
Nalyappa
A large, open campground on the western side of the Yorke Penninsular, South AustraliaThis is fairly popular spot, and area is fairly open, so you may be looking at the campers next to you. It is a fairly large area though, and the ground has a little grass cover, so is suitable for tents.
Glenisla
A pleasant, green, creek side camp surrounded by rugged sandstone. Good shade provided by Grey Box, Bundy, Stringybark, Yellow Gum and Red River Gum over bracken and grass (mown by kangaroos).
