Stanley
Blue Mountains National Park
Among low bush and scribbly gums, this is a very attractive campsite close enough to Sydney for a quick nature fix. The camp sites are fairly level and mostly grass. There is a fire pit and picnic table at each campsite.
Anglers Rest
Large, open campground on the banks of the Cobungra River. The river here is quite attractive and offers anglers and kayakers a place to play.
Glenluce
Bush camping (no facilities) on the banks of the Loddon River. Most of the site is a cleared level paddock, well grassed but open to the road and shaded by one fir tree. May be boggy when wet.
Very pleasant, narrow, extended river flats shaded by open Peppermint, Manna Gum, Blackwood & wattle over short green grass. Good gravel access track. Surrounded by the forested foothills of the alps. Upstream is tunnel in a horseshoe bend of the Howqua Rv at the foot of Tunnel Spur.
Noojee
Situated at the head of an attractive, narrow valley are three grassed clearings by the bubbling Torongo River and surrounded by lush wet sclerophyll forest. The first, by the entry gate, is a small, grassed flat with little shade and no facilities.
Jugiong
A very large donation-fee showground campground, with Murrumbidgee fishing opportunities on one side, and a rest area at the other. The more peaceful campsites are on the far side of the sportsfield besides the river, away from the constant traffic to the rest area.
Barramunga
Very pleasant valley camp by the small Gellibrand River. About half the sites are well shaded by groves of different furs, other sites are open with a scattering of oaks, pears, plums and apples. All sites level, well grassed (mown by kangaroos). Dogs on leads. Rated at 4.
Condobolin
A free council-provided campground/caravan park that is extremely popular with the Grey Nomads, not in the least because of the free hot showers.
Toolangi
On the banks of the Yea River, this campsite offers a pleasant, shaded and well maintained area to spend a night. The campground is on the cricket oval, with a pitch in the middle of the oval.
Little Desert
A large grassed campground in Little Desert National Park set among MalleeThere are picnic tables and Bush camping is also permitted in the Central and Western Blocks of the park. There are marked walks from the campground, with brochures available from the information stand.
Deep Creek
This is a large, flat and well grassed campground with plenty of open space. The openess and low vegetation surrounding this campsite makes it a bit less desirable in windy weather as there is not a lot of shelter provided.
Cape Otway
This is a well maintained and formalised campground right on the ocean in Great Otway National ParkThere are 22 individual sites and a day use area. There is water available, a communal fireplace and a boat launching area. All this within a stones throw of the Bass Straight.
A large, open and shady campground on the banks of the Wimmera River, in Little Desert National Park. A great spot if you want to be on the edge of the river. The campground is very large and level, however doesn't have a lot of grass cover (mainly dirt).
Coorong
Large, easily accessable campground with walking (or 4wd) access to the beach. A nice spot to base for exploring the dunes/beaches of Coorong National park, with toilets, picnic tables and large grassed camping areas.
Leschenault
Well defined, flat (and sandy) campsites in Leschenault Conservation park on the edge of the Leschenault Estuary with the Ocean only a stones throw away. Most of the campsites are suitable for tents. There are half a dozen sites suitable for caravans or motorhomes.
Fairly open campground on the banks of the Murray River near Mannum. Great little spot if you need or want to be right on the river, with boat ramp access. It is definately not the most secluded of sites and you will likely be sharing it with other campers however quite comfortable.
Birchmont
A great spot suitable for caravans right on a white sandy beach on the eastern side of Harvey Estuary. There are basic facilities and flushing toilets. This spot is popular during the peak season (Easter long weekend especially) and day visitors chasing the blue swimmers.
Kangaroo Valley
This is a huge, grassy campground on the edge of the Kangaroo River, near Kangaroo Valley. This is an extremely popular campground during peak periods however they have a second site (normally behind a locked gate) that they open up during holidays and long weekends.
Jingellic
A very pleasant riverside camp ground situated on a river flat below the Jingellic Bridge hotel. Mown grass, Flush WCs, good shade and with steps up to the local pub. A park-like atmosphere with exotics providing shade over mown grass, graveled access road. Attractive outlook over the river.
Beech Forest
This is a small grassy and shaded campground in the northern section of Great Otway National ParkThere is a great little walk that leads to the waterfall and creek (about 3km and 3hours return). The walk itself is quite steep, and unfortunately you can't actually swim in the pool at the bottom.
