On holiday in Egypt.

Egypt is one of the warmest and sunniest tourist destinations within a 5-hour flight from Europe. The warm weather, together with the many luxurious resorts and the wonderful diving opportunities in the Red Sea, are important factors for the popularity of the land of the pyramids and camels.

The climate in Egypt

Egypt has, for the most part, a warm desert climate with very little precipitation, hot summers and very mild winters. Throughout the year, there are large temperature differences within the same 24-hour period. The difference between the minimum and maximum temperature in the same 24 hours in the desert is usually around 20 degrees. In the capital Cairo and in the seaside resorts along the Red Sea, these differences are smaller; there, the difference in a single day is only about 11 to 15 degrees (on average). The temperatures here are somewhat moderate, which means that extreme heat in the summer months is less likely to occur.
