Campgrounds were beautiful and well maintained, but there seems to be a problem with ants. Hundreds of tiny ones infested our trailer and we spent the two days getting rid of them.

We camped here for a week, just relaxing and enjoying ourselves. we were able to pull out our telescope and view an osprey nest across the water! It was awesome! We used the laundromat and it was clean. There is no family shower. But I was able to use the handicap shower with help. But, you must be prepared for the ants!!!! We h'ad heard about them ahead of time, so we bought more borax, but we weren't prepared for them to climb up the stakes holding our awning down. One of the locals who was camping there brought his environmentally friendly bug spray and that solved the problem! There are no more ants in our camper anymore! But it was an eye opener for us.There were cooking tables at every campsite, which was quite convenient

This is a nice site right on the lake. It is a long back in site that is not too close to your neighbors. One side is wooded. The baths are fair with the shower layout not to my liking. All around and great campground for the cost. I have the senior America the Beautiful pass.

Great place - peaceful. Looks like weekends are popular - quieter during the week (well, this week). Verizon LTE was good (5G did not work) 80mb down, 12up. T-mobile 5G was ok, down, upload sucked Visible was spotty - OK most of the time for streaming. Even Cricket worked fine for calls. Lovely campground, fairly modern facilities - and kept nice and clean. Friendly hosts. Had read reviews of ant problems - did not face any myself, maybe it is time of year. And hey - two fenced areas for dog run - always a plus. Will be returning. Great job COE

Easy check in, hosts were very kind. Level lot, gorgeous view, friendly neighbors. We felt very safe here and felt that our dogs were safe as well when we were sitting outside our camper and on walks. The bath house was spotless. Our Verizon hotspot worked fine for our electronic devices. It was very quiet and peaceful through our whole stay. We’ll definitely be back again and again and again!!!

Camping in the "off" season after Thanksgiving was awesome! Super clean all throughout and a hardworking staff from grounds crew to office folks. Bathrooms very clean, showers hot and also very clean. Did not see an unworthy site in the entire park, all level and spacious. Very quiet too and close enough to town to run to grocery store and Wal-Mart.

Beautiful, large site on the lake… facing east for the sunrise over the water and little sandy beach-like area for kids to play in the water right by the site… and major infestation of ants… Borax around all contacts with the ground didn’t even slow them down. They came up every leveling jack, the tongue jack, the electric line, And the water line. They rode all the way home with us too. Otherwise, a good stop over with dump stations and no sewer at sites.

This is our second stay here in the same site. it is very level site with great lake views. The bathhouse is clean and close. The sites aren't too close together. The campground is very quiet during the week but gets busy and and a little busier during the weekend.

Nice campground with over one hundred individual campsites. Big rig friendly. Lots of waterfront sites. There is a water view from all sites, even if your not on the water. Fire pits, picnic tables, dump stations, friendly hosts. Minimal road noise sites 1-20.

We were limiting our COVID era camping trips to COE campgrounds because they typically offer large sites in the woods. This was our second time to visit White Oak Creek in five months. We were in site five during our first visit. That gave us a view of the highway's bridge over one of the lake's fingers. Our site for this trip was on the same finger closer to the main lake. It seems that fishing is one of the main draws for this campground. People were fishing from the shoreline and from their boats. Speaking of boats, a high percentage of campers here brought along their boats to use on the lake. TV signals haven’t heard about this park. We mostly saw a PBS station drift in and out during the day. A CBS affiliate would tease us with a poor signals after sunset. You could tell that several clusters of campers were family groups meeting up at the campground for a family event. This meant lots of children playing in the park's loops. From what we saw, they were well behaved and respectful.

We came here last minute, altering our route due to some bad weather in northern GA. We have camped on this lake before at Cottonhill COE and love that park so we had high hopes here. We weren't disappointed. Check in was easy, super friendly hosts at entrance. I think we were on the best loop, River Chase Loop, Only drawback was no easy access for a kayak. The other loops closer to the marina were much busier. Other than that, just lovely. We backed up right on to the lake with full 180 views. Site was very level and spacious with nobody directly next to us. (The sites next to us were buddy sites so they stayed empty the entire time). Bathrooms were old but kept clean. We had perfect weather that allowed us to relax and catch up on cleaning and laundry. We didn't have our kayak but will bring it next time for sure. Not many trails but frankly most people come here for the water activities. We went to Omaha Brewing Saturday night and they have a great selection of yummy craft beers. No masks or social distancing in sight so we stayed outside and enjoyed watching the local lids run around. Closest grocery is about 10 miles away.

DATE VISITED = Oct. 2020...price reflects Access Pass discount...campgrounds are pretty, some site layout is a bit weird, neighbors on our left were very close but on the right was wide open to the beach/water...restrooms/laundry were open but signs asked campers not to use them if they had their own due to Covid...trails were overgrown...one camp loop was closed and we liked that for walking...all amenities in nearby Eufaula...lots of OATV...we sprayed for ants preemptively, never saw any...our favorite part was the makeshift butterfly garden the hosts had constructed near the entrance...Critters Spotted: butterflies (common buckeye, zebra longwing, gulf fritillary, long-tailed skipper), anole lizards, cardinals, egrets, blue herons, Canada geese, mallards, feral cats

Overall, we had a great experience. The facilities were clean and very well taken care of. Only complaint is that all the playgrounds were closed (due to COVID?) so my kids were a little disappointed. Other than that, we had a good time and met some nice people. I did read some reviews of other people having ant issues but we had none. Sprayed some diatomaceous earth on anything and everything that touched the ground from the RV (jacks, hoses, power cord) and it worked like a charm.

I am torn with giving this review a star rating. If I were to base the review solely on the campground, location, layout, facilities, etc, I would give it a solid 4 however the Army Corps of Engineers who manage this campground are doing a HORRIBLE job of managing it! I have stayed at ACoE campgrounds across the country over the last few years and this one along with Cotton Hill and East Bank (Bainbridge Ga) are by far THE WORST when it comes to local COVID rules and cleanliness. Their COVID rules include a NO VISITORS rule at White Oak and Cotton Hill (other side of Lake Eufaula, same ACoE Ranger station) yet East Bank allows visitors. White Oak and Cotton Hill's laundry facilities are open for use, yet East Bank's laundry is CLOSED (presumably due to COVID). The restrooms and showers at White Oak Creek were only cleaned 5 days a week, Monday and Tues they go uncleaned, there is NO pest control and it's common to see live roaches in the bathrooms and showers. If the ACoE were taking COVID seriously they would be more concerned with restroom/shower cleanliness and pest control and less concerned with someone doing a drive through to look at sites or visit friends and relatives for a cookout!!!! I might also add, there are three campsite loops at this location, one of which is closed, rather than open it up they choose to CRAM campers in the two open loops (on top of each other at some sites). ... Note to ACoE... GET YOUR **** TOGETHER and make these campgrounds the excellent camping experience they have the potential to be!.... (One star for access due to gate closure between 10pm and 7am)
