This place is an excellent escape destination! The scenery is breathtaking! We spent a week there! It was so peaceful! The night sky was filled with stars! We brought our 36 four Grand Design Reflection 5th wheel with us without any issues. The roads were a bit challenging, so we drove carefully but managed to arrive safely!!! We utilized Google Maps for navigation. I would strongly suggest this place!!

Awesome place to boondock. We didn’t see or hear another soul for 3 days! Only $9.17 per night. It is a decent drive to get back in there, road is pretty bumpy with lots of pot holes, and there is a metal bridge that may be too narrow for some rigs. If you have a big rig you’ll want to come in the other way, the way the State Forest tells you. This is dry camping so no hookups but there is a fire pit, grill, picnic table, and it’s right on the water. Pretty of room for several tents, if tent camping. We heard and saw several birds, experienced the largest flies known to mankind, and even saw a dolphin. Fun to ride the scooter around on the backroads. I will warn you, there are ALOT of flies! Deer flies and horseflies during the day and no-seeums and mosquitoes at night. We couldn’t sit outside much except for an hour or two in the morning. Wear protective clothing and bug spray if you go for walks. It is a quiet and beautiful place. We really enjoyed ourselves, even with all the flies and bugs. Because hey, it’s the wonder of nature!
