My spouse and I, along with our two dogs, booked a stay at this location during the week leading up to Memorial Day weekend, specifically in spot S4. This slot offered a scenic view of the water and was a drive-through spot with all amenities conveniently available, including a sewer connection on the site. Each spot is equipped with a fire pit and a durable picnic table. The vista was unobstructed and spectacular, until our last night when other guests arrived, but the beauty of the surroundings remained impressive. The campsite is entirely grassy, providing a delightful experience that surpasses any asphalt-covered area. The campsite also has shower facilities in a bathhouse, which we didn't use, and the only public toilets we noticed were makeshift outhouses. It's worth noting that there's practically no beach except for a small area near a boat launch. The supposed beachfront for non-seasonal renters is inaccessible due to a steep slope covered with thorny bushes leading to a seawall with water right up to the edge. State regulations also prohibit dogs on this pebbly stretch, so our dogs had to wait until we visited Presque Isle State Park. We didn't mind this as we didn't plan on beach activities. I've heard there's a place called Raccoon Beach nearby that welcomes dogs, but we didn't visit. Some visitors have complained about the campsite's rules, but I found them reasonable and conducive to a peaceful camping experience. The rules can be found on their website. They enforce a 5 mph speed limit, but driving distances are minimal as the spots are close to the office. I appreciate their efforts to preserve the grass and reduce noise. Check-in times are also regulated, which is a great idea. The office, located in a large old house, is directly in front of the entrance gate. The office's limited opening hours could use improvement. Each time we passed by, it was closed except during peak check-in times. They

What a great campground. Right on the lake. Grassy beautiful sites. Very low water pressure and very limited lake access. Easy access for our 40 foot fifth wheel and plenty of space.

This place is stunning. Sprawling grassy area with a beautiful view of the water. I believe all the sites are grass, so they’re not always level, but we leveled our rig easily with blocks. We had no cell service (AT&T) but wifi worked well. Very low water pressure. Well off the freeway, so no road noise. Fire ring at each site and you can get a bin of wood for $10. They were happy to deliver it to our site for us. I wish we had been able to stay more than one night. We will definitely be back.

We stayed for one night. Beautiful setting with great views of the lake. What a gem. Our only complaint is we had extremely low water pressure so we filled our tank and used our pump. Problem solved!

Quiet. Campground rules help prevent trouble. Nice view of Lake Erie from most camp sites. Presque isle is about 20 minutes drive away. Cell phone coverage is almost zero. I don't consider this to be be a problem. Before cell phones existed, being disconnected was a way of life. Most sites are grass. Ours had a bit of a slope, but nothing terrible. We were able to level the RV without much difficulty. Fire rings and picnic tables on most (all??) sites. Water pressure was our only complaint. It was usable, but very low. I would stay here again without hesitation.
