From Monday evening to Friday dawn, we lodged in the vicinity due to a series of musical events taking place at various local libraries. The camping site was pleasant, albeit a challenge to locate, primarily due to misleading directions from the booking confirmation email that led us to a different site. Our spot had a concrete base with only electricity and water facilities, priced at $25 per night. The site was extensive and the surroundings were well-kept and regularly trimmed. The stunning lake views were a sight to behold. The place didn't give off an Oklahoma Red Dirt vibe, instead it felt more like a lake in Colorado, albeit not as chilly!

We had a lakeside site which had an absolutely stunning sunset view when we arrived. We stayed in the middle of April and had an the entire loop to ourselves. We were on the end so we had a lot of space from other sites and the site was quite large however offered little privacy. The water hookup was kind of far from the pad and required an extra length of hose to reach. The site was very level. We had three bars of LTE but were unable to receive any TV channels. If you use Google maps to get here be sure to double check the routing. It tried to take us on an odd route past a facility that warned of blasting. The wind off the lake got pretty intense for a time overnight.

We arrived late at night and the VL was a bit difficult to find as it’s not near the main office. It’s like a whole separate park. The restrooms and showers were the main area of complaint. Infested with spiders, webs, and wasps. Mirror missing, window hinges broken and hanging. It’s almost hazardous going to use the restroom.

We loved camping here. The view was amazing! The camping spot is right on the waters edge! Sunrise and sunset was awesome! The owl box outside our window was amazing to watch. Heavner Ruin Stone is a short drive too. We would love to camp here again. The state park office/store was amazing. The biggest issue we had was the ability to ease our camper into the spot. 35 ft long and accommodating but the trees in front of the site made it difficult to back in. This would not stop us from returning though.

We spent a week at this campground in a lovely elec/water campsite on the lake. The campground was very quiet during the week. On the weekend it got pretty lively as locals visit then, but everyone was nice and respectful. Quiet time was observed as well. Campsites were plenty spacious and included concrete picnic tables in good condition, grills, and fire rings. Full hookup sites are available but we were unable to reserve one. The only thing we found subpar was the dump station, it was just not set up well at all. Because of some recent flooding you had to use some interesting backroads to get to the campground. We were in the area for a specific reason and this campground was a good spot for us. I'm not sure we would go out of our way to stay here, but we had no regrets about our week there.
