Can't quite give it 5 stars because the sites were not level and sandy (can't give half-stars either). Had to use blocks for leveling, which eventually started sinking slowly into the sandy ground. Nothing major, just enough to notice over time. But other than that, it was a nice facility. Sites are pretty large so you're not right on top of your neighbors. Bath and shower houses are clean and nice. Heated pool was small but a pleasant change of pace from the frigid Lake Michigan waters. General store had camping essentials and other touristy items. Other amenities include a playscape, volleyball, basketball, cornhole, and even show movies on select evenings. Check-in was easy. You could either do it in advance (via phone) and then text them just before you arrive to get the paperwork right from the car, or go inside to the office to check-in. Staff was very friendly and helpful One thing to note is they lock the entrance gate at 11:00pm. You can get out whenever you want, but can't drive back in until 8:00am in the morning. You can however park in the front lot and walk to your site. Kinda silly, and not conductive to astronomers wanting to stargaze.

First time here. Staff is very friendly. Registration and camp store stays open until 9pm each night. Sites are not blacktopped but is just the ground you walk on. Sites are pretty level. Fire rings are pretty close to your site so you get the added bonus of hearing your neighbor. Campgrounds have plenty of shade. Restroom/bathhouse is modern and very clean. Campgrounds has WIFI but very week at our location. Needed to use a JetPac for WIFI service. Many campers bring their ORV’s to ride the dunes so they’re trailering them into the campgrounds. Ludington and Pentwater are nice little towns to visit. The beaches on Lake Michigan are beautiful.

Great stay. First time visitor to the dunes and picked this campground. Amenities were nice. Had a full hook up site. Stayed in early June so did not use the pool, but it looked nice. Sandy sites, nice fire ring and picnic table. My only complaint was my fault as I picked a site without a tree so no shade. Will definitely be staying again in the future.

This is a good-sized campground with loops on either side of the road. None of the sites offer much privacy and in the busy season you can feel pretty packed in. But the location is awesome due to its proximity to the Silver Lake Off Road Vehicle Area, Lake Michigan, Silver Lake and the Little Sable Point Lighthouse. If you are into off-roading across sand dunes, this is the park to stay at, although this isn't by any means a quiet place to getaway. In addition to the dunes, which are available to off-road vehicles and pedestrians to enjoy, there's another part of the park that has a cool lighthouse from 1874 and there are some nice views all around the park. Cell service was decent on Verizon but non-existent for a Google Fi phone (which uses Spring and T-Mobile towers). Make sure you check your rig size against the site you are planning gon reserving as many sites have odd shapes or require some maneuvering due to the placement of trees and fire pits. Also, be aware that the road through the campground is quite narrow so you'll need to take your time and, if at all possible, arrive when you still have daylight available to see everything. Note that 20 and 30 amp is available at all sites, but you often are sharing a power pole with several other sites. Bathrooms were in good shape and offer unisex shower stalls outside the restrooms, which is always nice.
