I don't usually write reviews but I feel it's my duty to warn others. So we drove 4 hours from Boston to the campground. When we arrived after dark I drove down to the campsite and within 2 minutes of getting there I heard yelling and screaming. I look up the hill and the owner on his golf cart is screaming at the top of his lungs saying get the “H###” out of my campground at my wife and 17yo daughter who arrived in a separate car. He then walked away to get his wife and said “I'm going to shoot them”. The owners wife and he returned to scream more... I went up to talk it over (The complaint was my daughter was driving a little more then 5mph which was the posted speed limit.) and they eventually calmed down and the man apologized. Not even a hey, can you please keep it slow... just get the “H###” out of here? I wish that was the end of the story but it gets much, much worse. We setup our tent and fell asleep and around 3 am we are suddenly woken by an ear piercing sound of a blazing train horn over and over. Apparently there is a train track budding up against the campground that comes through “EVERY” night around 3am. The tracks cross a street leading up to the campground which has no train indicators so the train needs to blast the horn to make people aware. My sister and her family were on a site next to the track... so close that their campsite was shaking from the train going by and the blast of the horn was right next to them. The next day we pulled our boat 50 minutes north to Sebec lake because the water quality was better than Sebasticook Lake... which I didn't realize was on phase III of a cleanup project to remove contaminants from the lake. Apparently it was once recognized as one of the most polluted lakes in Maine. So as we are pulling in to Sebec lake we received a phone call that one of our cars needed to be moved to a different spot. So I sent my son back to move the car while we prepped the boat for the lake. We get out on the lake and then I got a frantic phone call from my son saying the owner is screaming at him and telling him to get out of his “F###ing” campground and that he is calling the police. And that he pays his taxes? His complaint was my son was going too fast over the speed bumps. My son says he was watching the speed limit knowing what happened to my daughter the previous night. So we had to take the boat out of the lake and head back and call the police so we could go into the campsite to get our camping gear. The whole vacation was ruined and no I didn't get a refund. Never seen anything like that in all my years alive. Others have complained about the constant “I'm going to kick you out” drama and the psychotic owners chasing them down to complain about the speed limit. Beware before you book here. I hope I can at-least save one family from the frustrations we experienced. Wish I would have read the reviews before I chose this campground.

Where to start. We arrived and waited while the "owner" meandered to the office, on the phone. She opened the door to the "camp office/store" and proceeded inside without acknowledging my presence or inviting me in. I made my way in and she proceeded to talk on the phone for 10 minutes. The roads are narrow and full of bumps, mud, etc. The site, 34 was on the water, but was so bumpy and sloped it would be impossible to get level. The site was so un-level that our refrigerator stopped functioning. We have traveled all over the US in our RV and this is by far the worst campground we have stayed.
