We stayed 3. Nights here and although the site was large, beautifully treed and quiet, we were warned that they have sugar ants, but this was way more than anticipated. We sprayed everywhere, but the invasion persisted. Excellent 30 amp service and wifi. Very clean and appreciated bathroom/shower facility. Were it not for the ants (non biting) I would give this a 5* review. Note this is just off a logging road so there is a fair bit of heavy traffic during the day.

We would have stayed here for weeks if we had known sooner how nice this place is. Exactly what we like. Large, shaded, level, pull through site! Very friendly staff. Each campsite, in our section, had trees and shrubs to separate them, giving privacy. Spot was wide and we didn’t have to worry about slide out. Quiet and clean. Used the laundry which was surprisingly close by and reasonably priced. We will keep this place on our list of favorites. We have a 30ft fifth wheel and travel all summer in it.

We got a spot on the water for a Thursday and Friday night. This campground is awesome with some great waterfront sites. Water and electric. One of the bathhouses was a bit long in the tooth, but clean. I’d you stay here, be prepared for the weekend (and I’m assuming Summer) crowd. On Thursday, it was very quiet and serene. Friday afternoon the Atlanta weekenders arrived and the character changed. The weekenders were a bit less respectful of their neighbors.

Can’t comment on restrooms or anything as I’m in a 40ft moho. Nice views, nice cg.

Here for season opener 2022. Bath houses were filthy, standing water on floors, no where to hang towels or put toiletries while showering. Hot water ran out in about 60 seconds. Went to only other bath house. It had no hot water, unswept floors, mold on shower curtains. The main dumpster near the front gate was already full and overflowing and there are about 10 trash bags on the ground. This was their 3rd day of operation after being closed all winter. My question is: what the heck were y'all doing during the off season? Absolutely zero preparation for the season opening? WTF?

Super convenient to Athens and nearby groceries etc. Helpful and kind management and spotless bathroom (though I wish you didn’t have to enter through the laundry room which could be busy). Quiet even though it was pretty full lovely grounds. Fast password protected WiFi and good OATV.

We don’t normally camp in private RV parks (mostly boondock) but we were attending a wedding right next to this campground so it was very convenient. This place is well kept and the staff was very friendly when we checked in. Facilities include clean bathhouses with showers with nice hot showers and washer & dryers ($1.50), firewood available for $5, and they keep it inside so it doesn’t get wet. What amazed me was the campground WiFi was actually usable, we were able to stream video with no problem. And we lucked out and got an awesome site! Site #10 is gravel, fairly level, overlooks the pond and is so peaceful. The campground itself was quiet but we did get noise from the traffic on the main road. The water spigot at our site was not very convenient as it was only about an inch off the ground and right next to the sewer hookup, but the water quality seemed good. Overall, great campground and we would definitely stay again.

We needed a way point on our way to Atlanta. We will certainly return. An email received the day before told us of the easy access and directed us to our site. although there were a number of long long-termer their site were well kept and all was quiet. The setting is in a forest on the side of a small lake. Definitely a place to return to. The highlight was a bird nest in the pet waste container with eggs in it. There was good cable and WiFi.

We stayed one night (04/12/21) in our Jayco Whitehawk 27 rb. what a beautiful campground!!! wished we had time to stay longer during our travel to Destin Florida. The sites around #16 at the small peninsula looked like the best sites.

This campground is located on lake Lanier and is big rig friendly for a lot of sites, our site was #25 which was a pull through, the only thing is it was the first one at the bottom of the road. We had a beautiful view of the forest and lake. Plenty of room for our rig and a really big picnic table area with fire pit and barbecue grill. The reason for the 4 star is, even though we were surrounded by forest, there were no walking/hiking trails near the campground. This is a water/electric only but has a dump station on premises. This is a great campground for kayaking, fishing and boating. It is close 5 minutes from restaurants, grocery stores etc. We would definitely stay here again. FYI if you can get site 21, it is a pull through pretty close to the water:)

We arrived on Labor Day and stayed 4 nights. We were greeted at the gate by friendly hosts. The campground was quiet and peaceful after what appeared to be a busy holiday weekend. Our site, #54, was fairly level with a wooded area behind it and good separation from the other sites. The trailer sites are paved asphalt with electric and water. Many of the sites are on the lakeshore. The campground is hilly, has lots of trees, and extraordinary views of Lake Lanier. Buford Dam and great hiking trails are nearby. This is a terrific campground near Atlanta. We’ll be back.

I have stayed here twice in the past month . Had to go back and got Site 11 , next to 10, the precious one I had . Although the actual parking site for my 21 ‘ Micro Minnie , was narrow , I had room for my slide and only needed leveling on 11. The best part of these sites is your huge , private lakefront area ! Very relaxing to sit by the water , and watch the boats go by . We floated on our rafts in the beach/ swimming area 3 days in a row . Watched the full moon rise each night . Beautiful ! I plan to rebook for the Spring and May try to get a 16-22 site . Although a bit older , the beautiful , large sites made up for it .

We are just finishing up our stay at Sawnee Campground, one of the several COE parks that dot the shores of Lake Sydney Lanier north of Atlanta. Our camp host mentioned that this was one of the older campgrounds on the lake, and in many cases, it shows in the size of some of the sites. In some ways, it’s a bit of a “feast or famine” situation with sites. If you can score sites in the range of 12-24, you hit the jackpot. Those sites are all lakefront, and three are particularly spectacular (sites 16-18), situated on the tip of the peninsula. There are two bathhouses but many campers only see the one on the main road coming into the campground. Although serviceable, it’s old and has seen better days. We discovered the bathhouse up by site 30 and just started using that one. Although also old, it’s in MUCH better shape with better-configured showers and a cleaner appearance. The boat launch area is very nice, and there’s a floating dock from which campers can fish or launch kayaks/canoes. There is a primary swim area that’s okay, and two other areas near campsites that people use for swimming and boat/jet ski launching. The dump station is near the entrance and is serviceable. There are older parts of the campground that were once terrific tenting sites, but are now gated off and accessible only to hikers who wander through there. The camp hosts are helpful and friendly. The atmosphere is one of seasoned campers and boaters who tend to be from the northern GA counties surrounding the lake. Sawnee is close to all the amenities and parks associated with the Buford Dam recreation area, and the town of Cumming and nearby Buford have every infrastructure need you could possibly want. We loved our time there and the views from our site were spectacular. We would definitely return again, but we would also target the sites I mentioned above.

This is one of our favorite campgrounds! We got a water electric site and our 36ft motorhome has plenty of space. It took a while to level but once we did we were good! We loved the lake view and being surrounded with trees. Such a beautiful place!! Hosts were so nice!! The only thing I didn’t like was that the gate closes at 10:30 so one night we came back late and had to park outside the gate and wake up at 7am to move it...

Our site and view were really excellent. Plenty of room. We were situated on a small peninsula with about 8-10 sites on it but there were several others that looked nice. Ours was a pull through site that had the side of the camper facing the lake. Exit the camper and walk down a small cement walkway to a large cement pad with a picnic table, grill and fire ring all about 10 ft from the lake. Plenty of areas to swim, play or fish in the lake. There is also a boat drop near by. The site itself had 20, 30 and 50amp hook ups. Water hookups but no sewer at any of the sites. There is a dump station near the entrance which worked well but it’s kind of a pain to not have the sewer connection. Also a fairly large playground for kids. All in all, we loved this campground and site. One of the most beautiful we’ve stayed at.
