The terrain was flat and stony and I only spent a single evening there as I was merely making a stopover. The nightly rate was $39, but I received a 10% discount through the Good Sam club. Unfortunately, the bathhouses were inaccessible and the swimming pool was devoid of water. The community building was about to undergo a cleaning process in preparation for a family gathering. The location was conveniently close to the highway, although there was a bit of noise from the nearby road and train. The proprietor, Barry, was quite amiable. I would consider revisiting if I ever found myself in the area. They mentioned that the pool was usually quite stunning, but a recent downpour of around 5 inches, which was greatly needed, had unfortunately turned the water green.

This location has our hearts! We lodged here for a week on September 22 and returned on March 23 to stay for a couple of months. It's serene, tranquil, and exactly what we were seeking. The cost is unbeatable for the amenities provided. The family operating this campsite is always readily available should you require assistance. Our pets enjoy the dog park, and the peaceful nearby roads for strolling. Proximity to Walmart and a well-stocked local grocery store is a bonus. Amarillo is less than a two-hour drive away for any major chores. We're fond of this place and are contemplating making it our winter retreat. The charm of a small Texas town at its best!

We stayed here on April 23rd. Excellent spot for a stopover as others have said. Level site, full hookups, good water pressure, easy check in after hours. We called ahead and the owners had our info waiting for us in our spot. Nice grassy areas to walk the doggo and to stretch our legs after a 450 mile day. Location is right off Hwy 287, but noise from the road wasn’t a problem. Will definitely stay again next time we head across TX!

I almost never stay at "RV parks" but this place was perfect! Owners were super friendly and helpful, sites were level, had full hookups, picnic tables and a great little fenced dog play area. Was traveling from southern Colorado to east Texas, and this location was convenient to highway and perfect distance between the 2 locations. I will definitely keep this Park on my list! Thanks for the hospitality!

We were originally going to stay at the Walmart in Childress, however, it was crowded with trucks and most of the parking lot was blocked. This was a great find since it was 100 degrees, we appreciated the full hook ups. Easy access to US 287, wifi that allowed me to stream my shows, level sites, friendly staff. There was a small store for snack foods, if you needed it. There is a train that goes by, but really didn't bother us. Overall, great stop over location. We stayed here in a 45' toyhauler.

We called after hours and got an answering machine message with instructions. We arrived around dark, found packets at office doors and followed instruction. We picked a back in spot for $28 instead of pull through for $35. Clean showers, good hook ups, and free basic cable.

We stayed here on a quick stop on the way to Colorado. Arrived at 9:30pm and had forgotten our site #. They answered the phone and told us where to go although it was also posted on the door of the office. Lamp post lit our site and it was easy pull thru and level so we didn’t have to unhook the TT. Only issue was train noise but once I fell asleep it didn’t bother us.

Incredibly friendly staff over the phone. Set us up with a late check-in, and gave us easy to follow directions to find our spot. Clean, level spots, everything functioned well. Small fenced dig run area was sufficient. Some road noise for the highway, but couldn’t hear it from inside the trailer at night. Great stars at night!

Level sites, quiet other than a little road noise, easy access, pool, and good 5G phone service.

Ole Cotton Gin continues to impress. Drove directly to site as all arrangements made in advance: on line reservation and confirmation call from owner made this an easy overnight. Level parking. Nearby train traffic was audible but not overly disturbing.

Very nice park right off of hwy 287. Roomy sites, very friendly employees small store onsite. Decent T-Mobile and Verizon speeds both 3-10mbps. Nice sized fenced in dog park, pool should be opened up in the next week or so.

We stayed here 5/2/2021, called ahead, and arrived after hours. If we had followed Gail's instructions we would have been fine, but were faked out by a few TT's parked on a bare lot just off US287, and so had to do go-round to finally follow the signs around the corner to Old Town. Easy pull-through, level site, FHU. Walked the park, admired rose garden and the metal building that housed the old cotton gin. Looked at the clean and well maintained rest rooms and showers (did not use either). Only a few apparent over-nighters this Sunday, some obviously longer term tenants, but no "permies"; you know, those folks with wooden porches on a fiver with high grass growing up around it. Next morning went to office to pay and met Gail. We talked roses and business and she mentioned that a contractor was expected soon to rip out the old leaking pool and put in a new in-ground unit. I asked about the gin and she told me the facility was started in 1928 and operated until 1968. I spent a few minutes taking pictures of the old machinery which still remains in the gin.

Yes it’s a clean park with trees in some sites. In early May able to get a spot without previous reservations. Good internet service. But it’s right next to hiway with constant traffic noise all day and night. No separation or hedges between camp and hiway. Train whistle blowing long and loud at night too. The pool and the socializing deck area are “under repairs” —indefinitely apparently. The pool is half full of dirty green water.

This is a really nice clean park, site was gravel, but was very level and long enough for my truck and trailer. It has full hookups and a picnic table. There is a small dog park and our dog like being able to run a little off leash. She was also able to see chickens, ducks and a horse which fascinated her. Not a lot of shade, but it is in an area of Texas where there a not a lot of trees. WIFI was great, able to work, check emails, and stream our TV without any problems. Will be our regular stop anytime we come this way. Easy to get in and out of off 287.

After a few nights away from any connectivity, we looked forward to staying here for cable TV and wifi, neither of which worked (cable not at all, which their own registration form noted, and wifi barely enough to load any emails). They had good COVID procedures in place for contactless check-in (the office was closed by the time we arrived) and graciously accept checks, even. Our camp site was clean, but they are just cheek-to-jowl pull-thrus with tables. The bath/shower is one for women, one for men and we had both to ourselves and they were clean enough. Little dog fenced area was clean. But price charged for nonexistent amenities was too much, and we were ringed by full-timers, one of whom took off his pants in his open front door, and another of whom banged on the axle of a truck way into the night, then had a loud fight with his girlfriend outside. Not as bucolic as the website would suggest, and management seemed to be left in the hands of a slacker relative of the very well-meaning owner.

This will be my go to place for my future trips to TX. We arrived after dark, selected one of the open sites and set up. Very level, great since I didn’t want to unhook just to sleep. Initially we were gonna just stop at the rest area...not when it’s still 85 degrees at 8 o’clock. I have AC for a reason. One site (appeared to be long term) had some ole boys talking and playing music kinda loud but they went in and passed out a couple of minutes after 10. Easy access off 287. Didn’t use the facilities so can’t comment on that. Staff very friendly and accommodating.

We stopped for just a night along the way back to Arkansas from Colorado. Chose it due to the good reviews. After closing, so camp host met us; could not have been more welcoming and pleasant. It is just gravel and grass, but is very well maintained and groomed. Will definitely make this a must stop along our route from Arkansas and NTAC (Hillsboro, TX) to Colorado.

Traveling through Texas to Colorado & needed an overnight stay. 9 miles from the small town of Quanah so have your own food available. There are no restaurants or stores close by. Nice clean restrooms & showers. Staff was super friendly & the young man who greeted us at the door was so polite. This was a pleasant surprise. There is highway noise but it's more background noise & did not bother us. We got the Good Sam discount.
