The facilities were absolutely incredible! They had multiple swimming pools, pickleball courts, a golf driving range, and a variety of other activities for those interested. It gave off a vibe similar to a grown-up summer camp. They had a few nights of paid entertainment, which were mediocre at best, but we weren't expecting performances from big names like The Eagles or Jerry Seinfeld. The camping spots were decent in terms of space but lacked any scenic view. The resort, which accommodates around 2,000 RVs and park model homes, was not exactly a surprise. We were curious about such a resort, and now we've experienced it. It's an excellent spot to socialize and make new acquaintances, which we did. However, we're not prepared for this kind of long-term living and would likely seek a smaller place when we're ready. It felt somewhat like an urban sprawl amidst a sea of RVs. I was displeased to find a $44 "credit card service fee" for my rental, with no prior warning on their website or in our email correspondence. I was informed that I could avoid this charge by paying with a cheque. Cash or e-transfers were not accepted. It's been about 15 years since I last wrote a cheque, and I didn't have any for my U.S. dollar account. Even if your utility bill is only $1.00, the minimum fee is $22. This seems like blatant price gouging, and for this reason alone, I won't be returning. The complimentary WiFi was excellent for streaming Prime Video. Being in the heart of Mesa, there were no issues with mobile reception. The check-in staff could definitely benefit from a bit more cheerfulness. They weren't very welcoming, one person in particular, but I won't mention her name.
