We came hoping to find a quiet place on the lake, but it was filled with campers that had a lot of things surrounding their site, as if they've been collected over time. One trailer was literally falling apart and another looked like someone had abandoned it. It was missing a door and siding. It was sketchy. The narrow dirt road was rutted pretty badly so we ended up leaving. I'm pretty sure if I attempted to take pictures, the camping residents residents would not appreciate it. Beautiful lake though.

Some road noise close to site. Overall pleasant overnight. One tenter and a camper in that section with no vehicles, but came in after I turned in.

Got here on a Wednesday morning, found a spot with a great view of the lake. No neighbors (yet) 5 miles out downtown McCall. Cell phone coverage 2 bars with Verizon. Paved road to the pull off.

Not a lot of places, but it was empty at the end of October. Probably because it’s 30 degrees out. Great spots right by the lake. Quiet and peaceful with really fast cell service.

Ponderosa State Park was full already at 8 AM on 9/11/20 so we headed down Lick Creek Rd for 2 miles and the road forks to the left. About 1/4 mile farther was Idaho State Recreational land. Great place tucked off the road between the trees. A little dusty but free. You can stay for 14 nights. The only bad thing was the amount of dust from the road through but rather peaceful. We also checked out going straight rather than take the fork. Nice free parking about another maile after the fork. Both were big enough for our 41' fifth wheel.

Super easy to get to! My fiancé and I camped out the back of my SUV but there are plenty of little spots and nooks for larger vehicles with trailers. Despite being about 40-50 feet from the road, there’s rarely anyone driving by so it’s not a big deal. Definitely worth setting up camp for a few days right outside the city.

5 miles east of McCall, ID which has full services. the state park is totally reserved in August - usual tourists plus all the Covid refugees. Dry camping. Go past the boat launch to find several places to park smaller RV's, maybe if with a small trailer. Lake access in places. TMobile was usually 2 bars but "no service" (briefly} to 1-3 depending on how many are using it according to a local. Found a place with good solar access.
