I really wanted to rate this park lower due to very tight sites, very low tree limbs, and unnecessary (but apparently mandatory) “help” provided by office personnel during backing in. (Seems they did that for everyone.) But, the park is located right on the West edge of Rapid City, providing great access to all Black Hills area attractions, restaurants and shopping. The sites were level, and grounds, bathrooms and showers were very clean and well maintained. A little expensive for what it is. Because of location and overall condition, I give them 4-stars, but probably won’t stay here again; there are better options in the Black Hills area.

Shower and bathroom facilities were exceptionally clean. Laundry was also very nice and clean. They clean facilities every day from 11:00-12:30. Owners were very friendly and helpful. Campsites we’re pretty tight, but that’s expected in an RV park. We had a pull through, shaded site which was nice, but was close to the road so had more traffic noise than we would have liked. Overall a very nice campground.

Lake Park's customer service impressed me. Before we left home, the park called twice. The first time was to move us to a larger site because they thought our Class C wouldn't fit the one I'd picked and, second, to move us into a FHU site when it became available. The RV park is quiet, clean and well groomed -- near a beautiful city park with a large lake and nice residential area. The sites are narrow, but well done. Lots of trees were around for shade (It was hot!), and it just seemed peaceful. It has a Laundry Room, but no central bathrooms that I found. We deserve "I survived camping during the Sturgis Bike Rally" T-shirts. We were the only RVers in the campground without a motorcycle or two. It was fun to see the biker community close up and the fun they had with each other. Except for the bikes coming and going, they were considerately quiet. We used it as a base to be see sights in Rapid City. Just up the hill from the RV park is Chapel in the Hills, a stop not to miss. Lake Park could also be a base for seeing Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, and other Black Hills sights.

Pretty quiet and located next to what appears to be a large city park, just wish that was the view. Place is clean, organized and kinda old-school. Sites are a little tight for me, like to sit outside and not hear every movement of my neighbor. That said great spot to then launch into the black hills if you can’t make it farther. Lots of cottages too. Nice playground for the kids. The actual number of RV sites can’t be much over 25 or so...which is appealing to me, so even though it it is tight, it I s small and enjoyable.
