Was pretty full for it being fall. The real attraction here is the proximity to Lake Michigan, the amount of beach to walk & the trails around the Sports Complex. The luge stuff was interesting to wander around (closed for obvious reasons) and there were cross country skiing trails as well that were good for biking. I think if we went back we'd get site A49, which is really close to the stairs going down to the lake. The DNR site says: No pad. Slopes slightly on back end of site. We thought getting our 19' trailer into the site (and getting it level) wouldn't be an issue. The only downside was the sites around ours. We had a lot of discussions with our neighbors about where to park the trailer and at what angle was ok. Just some trees in odd places.

Visited early August 2020. Park was extremely clean, including the bathroom. Helpful and friendly rangers. Campground never ran out of wood. Sites were well spaced in our opinion. Had a spot on the outside loop. Listening to the waves at night we’re the perfect way to relax and fall asleep. Ice Cream place connected to campground if very good! Channel Campground was closed due to flooding when we were there, so the park didn’t seem crowded at all. We can’t wait to go back!
