We had reservations and arrived around 5pm to be told that we needed to drive around to find an empty spot. This is not an easy campground to negotiate as there are many twists and turns and the map they give you is pretty useless. We drove around a bit and it appears to be very full and crowded. Plenty of cars jutting out onto roadway because of the tight fits. We went back into office and begged them to give us a clue as to what area to search for an empty spot. The lovely girl at the desk gave us a direction. At the end of the last road in the campground was an empty spot. It was probably empty because it had a deep muddy rut in the spot from someone trying to negotiate the angle of the spot. It was also near the dump station so there was that faint air of dump smell. As this was the start of our two days there, not a good impression. It didn't improve over the two days. Shop closed at 5pm on a Friday night in Summer! We expected kids playing and regular family noise but unfortunately we must of picked a full moon weekend or something because we heard plenty of screaming between family members and it was very, very tense. The whole place is cramped and lots of derelict looking campers. Their brochure and online pictures are really good but the reality is its old and tired and pretty rundown. If you are paying full price and not a Thousand Trails member - avoid this spot. Theres plenty in the area that our much nicer.

Thousand Trails La Connor RV & Camping Resort is located on Skagit Bay near La Connor Washington. Thousand Trails La Connor is conveniently located allowing for easy access to Deception Pass State Park, Fort Ebey State Park, and the Anacortes Ferry. We had a great time during our stay at Thousand Trails La Connor. In this video, we provide a walking tour of the campground and amenities. The cellular service was spotty for all the major carriers at this location and congestion significantly reduces speeds from early morning through the evening hours. Verizon cellular service clocked 4.97 Mbps download speed and 0.91 Mbps upload speed. AT&T cellular service clocked in at 9.54 Mbps download speed and 0.08 Mbps upload speed. T-Mobile cellular service clocked in at 6.15 Mbps download speed and 0.11 Mbps upload speed.

Staff provided a list of available water & electric sites during check-in. The ranger even put our name on the list for a future FHU site. Great start! We chose site #47, dropped our jacks put out slides and then the power completely died after 20 minutes. ACK! So then we had to start our generator to pull in the slides, then retract the jacks unhook water etc. Our next step was to hightail it down the road to very small and unlevel site #58. Nightmarish setup that involved multiple blocks and a whole lot of headache. I then turned in the registration card and another ranger said "oh yeah I think we already have a maintenance request for site 47." HUH? Well then why were we told it was fully functional and available? Good grief! We later discovered that only 40 of 330 total RV sites have sewer connections, and half of the 40 are taken up by annual members. The overall lack of FHU sites was very frustrating. Campground is supposed to charge a daily $10.78 fee per guests but they let ours come in for free. Well at least that is something! Blazing fast free wifi at the Lone Tree Lodge. Lodge itself is closed but you can sit outside on picnic tables. Restrooms 1 and 4 are rather small and old in appearance. Restroom 5 was our favorite as it had the largest showers and appeared to be relatively recently remodeled. Staff interaction was a mixed bag. Brittany was very abrasive and borderline rude. She could definitely use some additional customer service training. Kat was very friendly and empathetic after learning about our site 47 meltdown. Beach area is beautiful during low tide. No kayaks or canoes available for rent. Onsite store is supposed to be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday but it closed early during our stay. Recycling is available onsite.

Stayed here over memorial weekend, all spots were full, noise level was surprisingly pretty quiet even in the evening. Surrounded by trees which is nice you don’t get a heat stroke in your rv at 9am. Cell service is good had no issues. The playgrounds aren’t much of playgrounds, outdated but enough for kids to run around and climb things. Public bathrooms were clean and smelled good, not scary. Would come again, I just would try get a spot closer to the beach area for my kiddos.

We stayed at this Thousand Trails Park here over a cold weekend in March. The road was muddy, but dried out. Lots of tight turns. Some older RV's were here, along with long term campers/owners. The sites appeared tight; however, lots of really big rigs fit into them. There is a waiting list for sites with satellite coverage, water views and ones with actual sewer connections. One problem that we had was my surge protector kept cutting out power as the voltage often dropped below 105volts. I think there are older power lines in the park. The other issue was there was only enough cell reception for text messages from a lot of the sites. My buddy had Verizon and we had T-Mobile. We both had broken cell calls and could send the texts, but the photos would not go through and there was not enough coverage for internet (4G service indicated, but only 1 to 2 bars). When we got down within view of the water, then we had coverage and could get internet. We loved the outdoors and had fun walking on the rocky beach. Friendly staff, but most of the buildings were closed, due to Covid (and they are regulated by the Swinomish Indian Tribe, not WA state, as the park is on the Reservation). Clean, newer bathrooms. We will be staying here again!

Location of park is very centrally located for ferry system and attractions around the area. We hooked a sewer pass thru site which was ample big and somewhat private. No 50 amp sites as far as I can tell but was not needed. Facilities were spotless. Staff was friendly. Only negative of this park is that it not big rig friendly. Lots of trees and tight turns.
