Kestrel Yurt Camp

113/7 Van der Stel Pass
7185, Botrivier
Western Cape, South Africa

Kestrel Yurt Camp is a property for self catering in Botrivier for up to 2 guests visiting the Cape Overberg region.

About Kestrel Yurt Camp
Kestrel Yurt Camp can be found in Botrivier on Porcupine Hills Guest Farm, which is home to a nature conservancy and a small olive growing operation. The farm itself has a wide range of activities and there are even more in the local region. Kestrel is part of a Yurt camp that has been split into two neighbouring sites that are screened from one another offering visual privacy. Kestrel sleeps two guests in a Camping Yurt that is furnished with a double mattress, linen, towels and lights. Adjacent to the Yurt are two separate structures for your private use - one is a large bathroom with a hot shower, and the other is a comfortable kitchen and lounge space. The kitchen area has a daybed which can be made up with linen to accommodate an additional two guests, and extra camping for up to four campers can be arranged. The Yurt Camp is equipped with solar power and charging facilities, gas stove tops for cooking, fridges, crockery, cutlery, utensils, braai facilities, firewood, firelighters, soaps, shampoos, salt, pepper, and the farm's home-grown organic olive oil. You need only bring your food and drinks. Kestrel Yurt Camp is next to Malachite Yurt Camp and can be booked together for larger groups. The Yurt Camp is situated under the farm's distinguishable ridge, with a gentle riverine area to the one side of the camp. Enjoy a walk through the farm's olive groves, only two minutes from the camp, or a longer hike along the beautiful Verraux Trail (1,5 - 2 hours long). For guests that would like to explore more of the conservancy, there are a number of hikes or trail running routes around the farm that give you spectacular views and expose an incredible array of flora unique to the region. Mountain bikers can cycle on nearby farms, with the most notable trails being on Paul Cluver and Oak Valley (30 mins from Southern Yurts). When you want to be near the water, enjoy a light 5 minute walk to our dam - swim its length, or enjoy a sundowner under the cool shade of the weeping willow. For bird lovers, the farm is a small oasis.
