The initial interaction with a rather unpleasant and uncooperative supervisor left a bad taste in our mouths! There's barely enough space to set up a pair of foldable outdoor seats. The place is adjacent to a heavily trafficked street. I have no intention of returning and certainly won't be endorsing this location.

We planned to dry camp with a friend near a spot close to the White Sands NP. Our Sprinter is new and we are still working out the bugs. At the dry camp we discovered our water pump would not work so we needed to scramble for an RV Park with hook ups. Luckily Brandi was very responsive and gave us a good discounted rate. However, we found that while we had water and power we had no black water dump. No problem so we thought since the description shows dump on site. We pulled in late that night in a secluded area as described by Brandi which turned out to be along the Fenceline parallel to HWy 54. You can imagine the road noise. The next day we were ready for a shower so we headed to two of the ones noted on the maps but only one was available. No worries, the water was hot but the shower but was in need of repair and renovation. Upon exiting the hut we met Tom, the site manager who brought us power supply adapter the night before. He was a highlight for us, friendly and drew us a map of the local sites. Every day we saw him doing a lot of maintenance and once he mentioned the owners we're planning some big changes. The park needs it. It appears the majority of sites are full timers based on their site decorations. The road noise was a huge downer and we had to find ear plugs to be able to sleep. Another negative was the dump site. While there was one near the manager's trailer he suggested that we "just find an open spot" and use that one. Luckily there was exactly one available site on the grounds.

My husband and I have been staying at this park twice a year for many years. I called this summer to reserve our campsite. The voicemail I received was Johns voice, John is the previous owner, so I thought it would be a standard phone reservation like I had made many times before. I did think it was strange that John didn’t answer right away because he always did. It never went to voicemail before. Well, maybe he was busy settling in a new arrival I thought. I received a phone call back and was told I would have to call back closer to our stay to make the reservation. At that point someone else got on the phone and was more than happy to tell me the rate has now more than doubled!!! What a shock! From $18 a night to $40 a night!! Holy cow!! I would expect to pay that rate at a place that has the amenities that go with it, Pool, Hot tub etc. but this is a no frills campground, just the kind we like. But $40 a night for a spot in the dirt?!?! I was told they are making improvements to the campground and that costs money. I understand that but I don’t expect to pay for improvements that aren’t made yet. Cleaning the cat tails out of the pond and Gertrude the duck having babies isn’t the type of improvements that warrant a rate hike of more than 50%. When I asked about getting the site next to some friends of ours I was told that wasn’t possible. I’m calling 5 months in advance to make sure I got the spot I wanted and I was just told I would have to call back closer to the dates of our stay? How would I be able to get the right spot at that point? Getting a specific spot was never a problem with John. The next day when I inquired about my confirmation email, I was told I would receive one the day before. Nate, the new owner decided he didn’t think the park was a “good fit”. Well, thats not Nates decision, it is Nates job to make sure he does what people in the hospitality industry do and that is to make sure it is a good fit for all that stay. Instead, in his arrogance he lost $375. Thats not all he lost. Many of the people that stayed there full time are now leaving due to Nates poor decisions. Having parties around the pond at night with loud music. Kids driving the golf carts around with no supervision. Hopefully they don’t run out in front of a 20 ton motorhome that even at slow speeds does not stop on a dime. If the utilities at your site go out during your stay your going to have to find the person to fix them on your own. Not to mention the increase in camping fees. The facebook page for Edgington RV park is very misleading, Pictures of the “new office”. This building was the book exchange so the building is far from new. I could go on and on but I’m sure you get the picture. This is not the first time Nate has tried to run this campground. He failed at it before and John had to take it back. Nate is now well on his way to failing at it again. He seems to have forgotten that as a campground owner, he needs RVers, RVers don’t need him. There are plenty of other places to go in the area for less than what he is charging. My husband and I will never return to Edgington as long as it is run by its current owner. We much rather support a small business that cares about its customers. I warn others to stay away from this campground also. Unless you enjoy paying outrageous prices for nothing more than a parking spot in the dirt.

Your children can wear themselves out at the no barriers fish pond during the day with their screams of happiness as they catch their fish or cries of despair because things didn’t go their way. In the evening parents can put their children to bed to the lilting melodies of the new owner’s favorite tunes and gregarious laughter, since they have discovered that the esthetics of the pond provides a great place to entertain family and friends. There seems to be no speed limit in the campground. Imagine the thrill of meeting a golf cart as it suddenly appears, turning the corner just in front of you. All this makes it an exciting place to visit with neighbors or walk your dog. I strongly recommend Edgington RV Park for anyone who believes peace and quiet is boring and emotionally disturbing.

Under new management. This park has a gorgeous view and a lot of potential. Not a bad stop for visiting White Sands National Park, which is absolutely stunning.

One of the nicest Hosts you'll meet: "Me" directed us to a nice spot with full hook ups. Nice little park with a cute pond, a free library and a windmill. Close to White Sands National Park, Cloudcroft and Pistachioland... where we found many tasty treats. Our Passport America rate made our stay a rare bargain.

Great place with a perfect host. We called ahead and reserved a spot with electric and water for the night. Bathroom and shower available and warm. Some highway and train noise throughout the night.

John, the owner, is the most delightful man. I enjoyed talking and chatting with him so much. He’s very knowledgeable about the area, and he also gave us a discount for our space since we didn’t need sewer. He does offer a passport across America discount, but we don’t have that membership. We called the day of and were able to get a spot, but he was pretty full otherwise. He met us at the gate and took us directly to our spot. Payment is cash or check only, so come prepared! There is a small pond, playground, and even a library you can borrow/donate books to. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely stay here!
