We had site # 009E at first, but there was no way to get a a 40' motorhome level in these lower spots. They moved us up to a spot #18 for 2 days and would need to move us to the Cascade Campground for the next 5 days. Staff were very accommodating and helpful. There was only 2 sites and a cabin in our little cul-de-sac overlooking the lake.

We were in our site very briefly during a drive across country. I wish we had more time to enjoy it. Our site was one of 3 (one being a rented cottage) in a cul de sac. It was very quiet, although a bit far from the bathroom, if you need that convenience. There was fresh water in the cul de sac, and we had electrical at our site. We had a beautiful view of the water, although it was not accessible from our site. The paved site was nice and level. It was very convenient to Hot Springs and we used it as a jumping off point to explore the Black Hills.

I was pleasantly surprised upon arrival here. My fiancé found this location, in our travels to Mount Rushmore. Park is set back a few miles off main road, which we like. It’s a state park, so while we were able to book online, and pay for our site, we still needed cash for the permit, ($8) on top of what we spent for the site, $28. As far as our site, minor leveling required, and we were set to go. It’s a asphalt pad, comes with picnic table, and fire ring. Very happy to have electric hook up and water/dump station available. The area has lots of trees nearby for shade as well. They do have full hook up sites here, however, at the time we booked, they weren’t available. (Oddly, they were still vacant during our stay).
