I thought this would be another good state park campground, to me it was just a place to park for the night after a hard day of hiking at Cannon Mountain. There are only 7 sites, we had site #7 so no one on one side, but as soon as we pulled in we had to put our windshield privacy shade because you face the public parking lot.. with hundreds of people. There are water, electric and sewer hookups. No shower facilities though For a few dollars more, we preferred Maple Haven which offered more seclusion, full services and fast cell coverage.

Only 7 full hook up spots. Some non irritating road noise from I-93. Easy access to Echo Lake (beautiful!!!!). Easy access to Franconia Notch Bike Path which you can take to Lafayette Campground, Old Man of the Mountain and Flume Gorge. Easy drive to Lincoln and to Mount Washington. Got no Verizon reception in our spot. 1 bar in the parking lot/at the lake. No Sprint/T Mobile. ATT got great reception with consistent download speeds of 20 mbps!!!!

What a little gem of a place. Yes, there are only 7 spots, and yes, you are in a parking lot, and yes, you are fairly close together...but, worth it! The location is perfect for exploring the area, the view across the street is spectacular and there are full hookups in what feels very much like a self run campground. It helped that we had great neighbors and gorgeous fall colors, but would definitely stay here again. We were here M-F and the parking lot was never close to full during the day and completely quiet at night. Hike Bald Mountain for sunset for sure!
