Bool Lagoon Campground

5271, Bool Lagoon
South Australia, Australia

Campground along side one of the largest freshwater wetlands in South Australia.
The (caravan accessable) sites are undefined, level and some provide good shade/shelter from the wind. There are flushing toilets, gas barbecues and picnic tables. The lake itself is a seasonal wetland and can go from verdant to parched depending on the amount of rain. When there has been rain the wetland comes to life with frogs, snakes and birds. There are also boardwalks which allow you to get a closer look at the wetland, one has a good bird hide at the end of it. The nearby Big Hill lookout offers good views of the entire wetlands and is well worth the short side trip.
This campsite is in Bool Lagoon Game Reserve The largest wetland system in South Australia More Information...

This site is accessable by caravans in good weather.

Getting there
Via Bool Lagoon Road. A sealed road takes you right to the lagoon edge. Simply follow the signs from the turn-off 18 km south of Naracoorte on the Naracoorte-Penola Road. Bool Lagoon may be closed on days of total fire ban, and, due to seasonal conditions may be dry.
