I've camped and fished there since the late 70's, it was a great place to get away. I took a ride to Alder 7 years ago and they were logging the dead trees at the campground, when I went back it was a mess, trees and brush covering the camp, all the sites were gone no tables, no fire rings, the toilets abandoned. I went back less than a month ago and it's even worst, the toilets are unsafe to enter and the place is a total fire hazard, such a shame the forest service has done this. I walked around and there is a bit of soiled toilet paper here and there, looks like some primitive camping in a few places but it's gone.

We did not stay here in our 31' Winnebago because of the drive down - steep and some low branches on the way. The forest service website says RV max 20' length but it's really height that would be the limiting factor (we are 12'3" and definitely wouldn't have made it). I drove down in a Jeep but saw a regular car down there. Really less of a campground than an area with a few dispersed sites and a couple of vault toilets. The forest service site says the area is "closed" - not sure if because of covid-19 - but there's no gate and someone was camping in a tent. We stayed, instead, just off Hwy 155 on Forest Rte 25S04 (35.7346949, -118.6146255). No Verizon signal at the "campground" but where we parked we could get an ATT signal with a booster (6 mbps down, 1 up).
