AfriCamps at De Pakhuys

Off R364
8135, Clanwilliam
South Africa

AfriCamps at De Pakhuys is a property for self catering in Clanwilliam for tourists visiting the Cederberg region.

About AfriCamps at De Pakhuys
AfriCamps at De Pakhuys is located at the heart of the Rocklands in the northernmost part of the Cederberg Wilderness Area, 26km from Clanwilliam. Nestled between striking rock faces and picturesque vineyards in the Agter-Pakhuis Valley, this dog-friendly boutique glamping camp welcomes nature lovers, adventure seekers, avid boulderers, and those simply looking to recharge in nature, to a peaceful corner of the vast and beautiful Cederberg. AfriCamps at De Pakhuys tents consist of an outdoor wood-fired hot tub or splash pool, a spacious open plan lounge area with a comfortable couch, a dining area with a solid wooden table and seating for five guests, a fully-equipped kitchen, two bedrooms that comfortably sleeps five guests, and a bathroom fitted with a hot shower, flushing toilet, and washbasin. Both bedrooms are furnished with an extra-length Queen-size bed and have their own private entrance which allows maximum privacy. One of the bedrooms also contains a single bunk bed. Our tents are equipped with air-conditioning and an indoor fireplace. Enjoy a braai on our spacious wooden decks and take in the views from the comfortable deck loungers. Pull up the front covers and transform the tent into a large outdoor living area. Unwind and appreciate a festive family breakfast while taking in the serene natural beauty of the South African landscape. The camp is dog-friendly, by prior arrangement. Multiple hiking trails meander through boulders across the property, with welcome sights like rock pools, San rock art, and even a waterfall along the way. If you're lucky, you might even spot the elusive Verreaux's eagle nesting high against the cliffs. A scenic drive to the top section of the farm (accessible only with a 4×4 vehicle) takes you to 60 hectares of rooibos tea lands, 260 hectares of unspoiled fynbos gorges blooming with wildflowers in season, and an old hollow rock cave – the perfect spot for a picnic. Take a more laidback approach and spend the day at the camp swimming in the farm dam or swimming pool, fishing for bass in the neighbouring farm dam, or sipping on some fine wines at the winery next door.
