Tom and Earl (the Springer)
Earl and I arrived here on Sunday traveling north out of Florida headed to Maine. Worried we were running late and would miss the check-in time for our reservation, I called the Park office and was told that someone would be there to help until 8pm. Definitely took a little pressure off our arrival and provided a great first impression of Park staff. Arrival to Skidaway Island SP is via a dramatically shaded canopy road with.moss handing from the trees. Reception at the office was great. The rate paid includes a senior discount and an additional amount for the required parking fee. Averaging $19 per day, the rate was quite reasonable. A park brochure was provided along with directions to Site 42. The brochure is very well done...particularly for a SP. Great second impression. Our site was a smaller pull through with full hookups including cable TV. A little bit of leveling was necessary but not a big deal. WiFi was available only at the registration office but ATT pulled a solid two bars and it was enough to stream content. Skidaway Island SP is well located for exploration of Savannah and Tybee Island. We passed a Whole Foods on the way back to the Park and picked up a decent wine and ingredients for a campsite version of Low-country Boil. Bonus for have grocery options other than Walmart. Although short, this was a great stay. Earl and I would stay here again...maybe longer than just two nights next time.
