We wintered at this mature resort in Florida, which is by no means a luxury establishment. It's evident that they're frugal and upgrades to their amenities are painfully slow. They tend to favor regular patrons, so newcomers often end up with the less desirable spots that the regulars didn't choose. The community can be quite exclusive, and if you're not a long-time visitor, you're on your own. Despite its resort label, it needs to significantly improve its services. The pickleball courts are merely repurposed tennis courts, with lines everywhere. The residents are responsible for the upkeep of the courts and the horseshoes. The gym is minuscule and in a deplorable state of cleanliness. It was never cleaned during our entire winter stay. There's a dire need for basic landscaping, which the guests have taken upon themselves to improve. The owner hiked the rates by roughly 17% this year, with no intention of making any improvements. Unfortunately, this increase has made it unaffordable for many for the upcoming year. The place is passable, but manage your expectations if you're planning a visit.

Our affection for this camping site was immense. It boasted two swimming areas, courts for bocce ball, pickle ball, and tennis, a place to play horseshoes, and even a poker area. Not to mention, the size of its library was impressive compared to most we've encountered. It appeared that the majority of the occupants were permanent residents, but the site was maintained impeccably, with daily trash collection. The vast expanse of the site was appealing to us as it offered plenty of room to take our dog on long walks. We did concur with a previous critique that the cost was somewhat steep and the necessity to contact the office each time we needed access through the gate was inconvenient, but we never really encountered any problems with this. It was indeed a fantastic place.

The initial assessment is quite balanced: A pleasant place, well-maintained, predominantly occupied by Class A's, Park Homes, and colossal 5th wheels. This is a typical 'South Florida Winter Scene' with an array of license plates from the north and even further north. However, since this is *CAMP*endium, you might be seeking something more akin to a traditional campground or standard RV park. This isn't that. With over 400 sites now, it's a 'by the numbers' establishment, indicating it's managed by strict individuals. Nothing outrageous, but deviating from the norm isn't tolerated. At $100/night for a concrete pad and hook-ups, it's not exactly a bargain. I didn't spot any restrooms. If you're only staying briefly and don't wish to purchase a $16 'gate sticker', you'll have to halt at the gate each time you return and phone the office for entry – a genuine oddity. Does it operate after hours? All I can confirm is that the gate's call box failed us a few times, and it's anyone's guess what happens if this occurs at midnight and the gatekeeper is doing rounds. The 'dog park' is a tiny enclosure at the far end of the park, roughly the size of two standard parking spaces. Ft. Myers Shores is a chain of small shops, extending for miles with heavy traffic, reminiscent of old Florida, although there is a small Ace and Tractor Supply store there. Ft. Myers city center is over 20 minutes away in dense traffic, from our experience. My main complaint: Given that most "campers" stay here all winter and vacant spots are scarce, the park doesn't share the understanding common among regular RV'ers that unexpected events can happen on the road, such as illness, and usually a cancellation notice is acceptable. Not here, under any circumstances. With a $100/night fee and a full park, this

First of all, I really can't believe there are no other reviews on this resort. The kind broker who helped us purchase our Dutch Star set us up a couple of nights here so she could go over our new to us coach and also instruct my husband how to drive. We arrived and were near the front of the resort(i believe site 364). The grounds were extremely neat and beautifully kept. Lots of class A's and fifth wheels in the front area. The front sites are all pretty much in the sun, which was not a problem for us as we were escaping cool temps! Our site was very level and fully paved with a picnic table. There were lots of snowbirds still there and it was very clear they were all having a wonderful time! Everyone was so very friendly and even reported that this wasn't a "stuffy" motorhome resort. They have a nice swimming pool, bocce, pickleball, shuffleboard, etc and noted a full itinerary that was given at check in. We were sorry we couldn't partake in some fun activities! The river flows right up through the park models that are at the other end of the park. While we were there, we saw signs for "fresh strawberries" one day and "fresh tomatoes." I think they also have food trucks there sometimes too. We attempted to walk to the BBQ/Wings place right down the street but the wait was very long so apparently it is very good! We never could get connected to the Wifi but we weren't there long enough to worry about it, our ATT was great. We will definitely keep this in mind again when we are in the Ft Myers area, very easy to jump on I 75 N.
