Chehalis RV & Camping Resort i USA

This is the worst RV site campground we have ever seen!! First of all the so-called Rangers are Rude!! While inspecting our insurance and registration we were informed that she used to be a former police officer and that we needed to license our trailer or we were going to get a huge ticket on our way home?? Our trailer is new and had it’s temporary license displayed. No reserve spots, was told to drive around and look for a empty one, signage is practically nonexistent, along the way you’ll see randomly placed wooden picnic tables that look like if you sat on them they would fall apart because they’re deteriorating, cannot see the site markers due to fallen tree limbs, overgrown forest foliage or brush, map on website looked amazing but think it must have been pirated from another site, was not told the Wi-Fi reception was only at the lodges, looks like several people have decided to make this place their home, was given a extensive list of rules and standards but yet didn’t see any of those applied to the “long-term residents“. Literally look like meth labs were being constructed or had been constructed. Did not feel safe didn’t even bother hooking up left after driving 30 minutes around this hellhole. Wasn’t even worry about getting our money back just wanted to get the hell out of there. Thought we heard faint banjo music playing and the sound of pigs squealing. Was told extensively about the ability to sign up for a membership. If this is your way of advertising to get people to become members good luck with that “Pinky”!!!!

A very large campground. Several sections closed down for water/electrical improvements; but I was told it was OK to walk throughout the area. Beautiful quintessential NW woods, with mossy trees and ferns. Some spots (not mine) had stunning views of the Mount St. Helens crater. The ranger gave me a map of walking routes ranging from a shorter 1 mile loop to a 3.6 mile dual-use trail spanning the perimeter of the property. There was a recent snow/windstorm and many sites had debris that had yet to be cleared. The tent area (which was still closed for the season) had some sites that looked inaccessible. Once it gets cleaned up it looks like it would be a nice area with lots of woods and privacy between sites. This applies to the RV sites under construction as well. If you need cell service, I found that the C Loop - which was over a hill from the rest of the campground and with less tree cover - had very good Verizon reception, enough to stream videos without a hitch. It also has new electric pedestals with 50 amp service. It may fill up quickly in the summer months. Other than that, the neighbors were quiet - even the kids!, the rangers were cautiously friendly (yes I had to verify insurance, etc.) but helpful, and I felt safe. Overall I was pretty happy with the place and would probably stay here again.

We stopped in here for a night to break up the drive from Washington to Oregon . Really nice campground. Lots of trees and grass. Out in the country but close enough to the freeway. Seemed really quiet in our loop and the sites had nice separation. Rate reflects Zone Pass member rate.

Thousand Trails Chehalis We stay two nights from August 31st through September 2, 2019 in campsite H43, the price was $o.oo due to our Thousand Trails membership. Our site has electricity and water hook up. The site was level and has plenty of ripe blackberries for picking. The campground is at an elevation of 150 ft. Access to the campground was right off Centralia Alpha Rd, our 28 ft travel trailer easily fit with room to spare in our site. Once we entering the campground, the pavement turns to hard-packed gravel as we looped around once to find our campsite. Weather was sunny upper 70's, the nights low 60's. This is a very quiet campground, activities we found at the campground to keep busy was billiards, two lodges, and two pools, Bingo was being played in one of the lodges. The campground has free showers, plenty of hot water and not more than a minute walk from our campsite. My wife and I enjoyed the campground, we will be back the next time we want to go to Mt. Rainier or Mt. St. Helens.

The Chehalis RV and Camping Resort, interestingly is the first Thousand Trails Campground to be established. That being said, its age is definitely apparent, but I think adds to the charm of the campground. We visited this campground in April. Though it was a rainy weekend, this was a great place to relax and leave the hustle and bustle. It was a short and easy drive from Portland, just minutes off I-5. The campground only had two loops open at this time because of the rain. Unfortunately, the roads and sites were quite muddy, but I think that's to be expected at this time of the year. When the rain stopped, the Roy Rodgers field next to our site proved to be a great place to run my dog. It had an expansive view of farm land and was very charming. TLDR; Pros: - Secluded and detached, very relaxing - Just enough signal to live stream the Master's (very important!) - Friendliest neighbors who "owned" their site Cons: - During the rainy season, this campground was muddier than most other sites - 30 Amp, but I kept tripping throughout the night. Only my heat pump was on I thoroughly enjoyed the campground. In the rainy season, I think it was a perfect place to sit under the awning and watch the rain come down. It is an older campground, which invites flaws. However, knowing that it would be a wet weekend, having great neighbors, and being a beautiful setting in the rain, I thought the campground was quaint and relaxing.
