We began our journey on a single evening. The paths were quaint and mostly under the cover of trees, with a friendly and accommodating team on hand. Internet connectivity was satisfactory, however, mobile network was unavailable. If we travel in this direction in the future, we intend to stay for two nights to fully experience and discover more.

We opted for Shoshone due to its closeness to Death Valley, intending to spend a fortnight there. We didn't anticipate any inaccuracies in the cell service reviews provided by others. However, during our check-in, we were informed about the absence of cell service. We had routers and sims for all the top three network providers and were confident of finding a way around it despite the information. However, we were proven wrong. None of our routers could establish a connection and later we found out that the park had never had cell service. The park did have wifi, but depending on its shared bandwidth wasn't a viable option for us. Consequently, we spent a single night and advanced our departure to our next stop by two weeks. The park was visually appealing, don't misunderstand. However, our dependence on connectivity and our inability to establish it with our equipment was the deal-breaker.

The campsite is a bit on the expensive side, but it's really lovely. After a day of wandering around Death Valley, the 89-degree pool is blissful. The pitches are spacious and relatively flat, and the washrooms/showers are tidy and well-maintained. The site manager was incredibly welcoming and helpful, even leading us to our pitch. There's also a local eatery close by with tasty meals and a comprehensive drinks menu. Plus, the wifi connection was impressively quick and reliable. I'd definitely consider revisiting this place.

I stayed here in mid March 2022 after a visit to Death Valley. I only intended to stay a night, maybe 2, but due to an intense windstorm, there were advisories for drivers towing trailers to stay put! ...the wind BLOWS here!! It's a nice campground, with clean facilities, an onsite pool, and grassy areas. Site locations are a bit of a mish mash, but overall a good stopover. Shoshone is a very interesting place, A local woman inherited the lands and the town from her grandfather, who had homesteaded the area. She is very involved in trying to find ways to preserve the lifestyle, the nature and environment, and Shoshone in general. Her brother owns the Date Ranch....btw, the Date Ranch is a must see! It is an incredible place! I spent the better part of a day there. It is also an easy drive from here to the numerous hot springs in Tecopa. Another adventure. Regarding the management in spring 2022, the older man who is/was working there should probably find himself another job. He has no people skills, and seems to get stressed and annoyed very easily. My situation was that the wind was so strong it had blown away the lock to my trailer hitch, so I had to go into Pahrump to buy another one before I could hook up and depart. I left him a note and called him from Pahrump, so he would know that it was my trailer in the site which had a new traveler coming in that same day.... Needless to say, when I returned he screamed at me awhile, and other campers quickly told me that he had been yelling for awhile anyway at everyone waiting for their sites...I will say the area is really unique, almost otherworldly. I left there feeling like I had been in a time warp ! :)

I have to start out with the fact that this was our first private RV Park stay - we usually stay in national, state or county parks. We don't need hookups, and almost every RV park that I have seen resembles a parking lot with hookups. That said, this place was recommended to us by our neighbors when we were camping in Death Valley. And having passed through this oasis on the way home, I wanted to see more. As a marine biologist, I really wanted to come here because the Shoshone pupfish is right nearby - in the nature preserve across the street and even in the drainage ditch through the campground! How often do you get to camp with rare and endemic species? The nature preserve is a really pleasant walk. There is also a pond with a birders blind so you can observe but not be easily seen - bring your bird book! In the evenings we did see coyotes pretty regularly, so keep your pets on leash and close. And it's not at all like a parking lot! Most of the sites are grass - ours was, and very pleasant. The layout can be a bit confusing, but the nice lady who checked us in walked us to the site. I was at first confused by being told that propane fire rings were not allowed, but that makes perfect sense on a grass site. Site #1 had 15 and 30 amp outlets, potable water, non potable (from the springs) and sewage hookup. There was very little to no cel reception, but the wifi was good here - and good at the Crowbar Cafe as well. We were onsite Mon-Fri in November, and we had a pleasant, quiet stay. The hot spring fed pool is a glorious luxury after a long drive or a day exploring, the bathrooms were clean, and the showers had plenty of hot water and pressure. There is also laundry available ($2 in quarters for a wash load I think), and a small library room that would be a good place to get some work done out of the wind, should one wish to. Our day trips included Tecopa (great BBQ), China Ranch, and Pahrump (get gas). Right around Shoshone is Dublin gulch, the Shoshone cemetery, museum and the awesome Shoshone Cafe & Saloon. I suppose you could also make a day trip to Vegas if you wanted to. All in all a very nice stay, would definitely return. Oh and they do Good Sam or AAA discounts, so ask.

Great campground for visiting Death Valley and Las Vegas. Nice grassy area for a dog, and a pool! Sites were weirdly placed but it was an oasis in a desert! We did not have Shade at our spot!

Nice facility, nasty management. Checked in the afternoon with a motorhome, trailer and atv. The day manager had us put our trailer and atv where he wanted them since the lot we were booked in would not accommodate. 8am a lady manager banged on our door screaming at the top of her voice threatening because we had our trailer and atv where she didn't want them. Tried to explain but she was too nasty to listen. Ultimately she called the local sheriff who made a visit. Fortunately he listened and made an agreement with us and her separately since we merely had done what was asked of us. Really don't appreciate paying to be yelled at. Wouldn't recommend anyone to be subjected to this kind of abusive treatment. Wish I had noted all of the reviews concerning the rudeness at this place.

basic, older style campground but it’s clean, has decent site spacing and a good location for exploring death valley. clean bathrooms and shower (free); hot springs pool, full hookups, good wifi, friendly manager. The town has one restaurant (Crowbar Café and Saloon) and a gas station, that’s about it. They offer a GoodSam discount.

Older park but it was a perfect one nighter in between boondocking. Had a really relaxing soak in the hot springs pool. Showers and laundry were clean. Site was level. We’d stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay here in tiny Shoshone. Lots of places to walk the dog. There's a trail system on both sides of the highway. A real configuration of sites here like there were many added after the Rv park was built. Ours didn't even have a number but just a little pull thru site in front of a mobile home rental. We easily made the little walk to the Crowbar restaurant ( yummy Mexican food), and whats called a museum. But it was closed due to the covid.

A nice dated park. Upkeep was questionable. Very friendly accommodating young lady in office. Layout of park was unique, enjoyable short nature trail. Close to Death Valley. A good choice for short stays.

Unexpected very nice place. A green oasis in the desert. Hot spring pool (87F/31C) a little bit dated but perfect water quality. Very good high speed WiFi (30 MBit). Friendly and helpful staff.

When I booked this reservation they asked my length and height (31' fifth wheel) and assigned me a spot. When I arrived they had someone else in the spot I had booked and they stuck us in another spot. The "entrance" the site was a joke and not designed for a 30+ foot RV, especially a 5th wheel. We ended up having to drive on their lawn to get level/straight in the site and had to drive over the lawn to leave the site. The staff was not helpful at all despite going back to them about the site. They had multiple "sites" that were literally the park road. Thankfully there were not a lot of people there because we would have had a heck of a time getting out the park. We stayed here because of its proximity to DV park entrance and we needed cell service. Next time we would just boondock or stay in the park itself since this place was NOT worth $36. There is a gas station by the RV Park but know its about $0.40 more per gallon than the gas station IN Death Valley park. I did not use the rest room, but my husband said it was the dirtiest bathroom he had ever been in. There are other options that would likely be a better option.
