Well... where do I start?? If you are old and crotchety, this is the PERFECT park for you. They may be stopping their bingo, dominoes, and potlucks but if you like complaining, you are in luck and will totally get along with these "lovely" people. You can walk around being grumpy with all of the other older grumpy people complaining about everything not being up to your standards. Being here is like... how do I say this nicely?... yeah, a concentration camp with the Nazi running the place on his stupid little mule. (There are two other guys that help around the park that are awesome). I was here for the previous review left by Cheryl Driskill and that really did happen. Now here comes the awesome fun that comes along with this park while not quiet hours... The complaints we've got: My kids were being too loud when they were playing outside at the park. Can't load the ATVs and dirt bikes on the trailer with them started because they are too loud. Trucks exhaust was too loud. TV was too loud. BBQ smell was too potent for the neighbors. Fire was going too late (but we weren't talking or being loud). Cars were parked too far over or supposedly in the road but they weren't. There was plenty of room for others to get past without having to move. If you are younger, with kids, or don't like being complained on every other freaking day about the dumbest stuff in the world I would suggest one of the other RV parks in South Fork, you might have a better stay because the town is a beautiful place... just not the people at this park. We ended up leaving early because Ron sped down in his mule to yell at us for loading the trailer so we could go riding the next morning. Did not apologize for his actions, because he blew everything way out of proportion when all he had to do was talk to us instead of yelling and making my 2 year old cry. And to Dave: If it wasn't for Ron, your park is amazing. Mike and Cindy, Daylan and Terri, and even Deb were great staff choices. They actually made you feel welcome and like part of the community whereas Ron made you feel as though you were less than nothing by his actions and the way he treats people.

Easy access off the main road, our pull through site was plenty wide and we liked how the sites were staggered so that your neighbors were set back slightly (at least at our spot - 34). The sites are gravel with small trees, picnic table, fire pit and no grass. This must be a relatively new park. The trees are small and still developing. Therefore they don’t provide much privacy (but the staggered sites help) or break the wind well (and we had a lot of wind here during our stay). The fishing pond isn’t large (bring your own gear) and we hoped for a longer path along the river (it’s really just a short walk through a makeshift route) but it was nice to have the water within walking distance - the river and the pond were great for pictures and overall ambience. There is a decent sized grocery store close that we took advantage of several times. If you’re a Verizon user, you’ll be ecstatic if connectivity is important to you. We had 5 bars throughout our stay. WiFi was mostly good but did have some inconsistencies. When we needed consistent connection, we used our hotspot. Overall it was a good stay but we were ready to leave when it was time due to the wind/dirt. We would recommend this park though.

This was our first trip to the South Fork area, and we would stay here again. The staff were very friendly and very dog friendly. They paid as much or more attention to my dog than me - which was just fine with me! It was not full and they put us right next to another camper, which I did not understand. The bathrooms and community room are very, very nice. The nicest bathrooms I've seen. The campground is open year round and it is at 8000 feet, so the entire campground is essentially gravel. Our dog would have liked more grass as he's 12 and seems to have developed tender feet! The WIFI worked well during our entire stay. This campground is close to the highway but we didn't hear much traffic noise at all. Very convenient for the Silver Thread Scenic Byway and the Rio Grande river.

This is probably one of the nicest parks in the South Fork area. The sites are generously sized so you don't feel crowded by a neighbor. We usually don't use the restrooms, but our kids used the showers and I have to say they have the nicest private bathrooms/showers I have ever seen at a campground. They were immaculate! And the common area/kitchen room where they have get together's and pot-lucks is beautiful! You can really tell that the campground management puts a lot of effort into making this place beautiful. The fishing pond and Rio Grande river behind the campground was beautiful with all the trees in bright fall colors reflecting in the water. The camp hosts were so friendly and nice and it was a pleasant check-in. Verizon worked well there, and also the park WiFi was the best campground WiFi we have ever experienced. It worked better than our Verizon MiFi! I only have 2 issues with the campground which is why I won't give them 5 stars. First, they charge extra for kids. I can understand a park charging extra for kids when they have a lot of amenities for kids, but this park does not have anything extra for kids except for a tiny playground that was too small for our kids. Our community of fulltime traveling families call this a "kid tax" and we usually avoid parks that charge it. The second thing is the park was mostly empty when we were there, but they parked other campers on both sides of us a couple of times during the week. I don't understand the logic of cramming people right next to each other when there are so many empty sites available to spread people out a little more.

We stayed for a month and received their monthly rate + electric (which came out to about $50 for us). This place is really fantastic! The views are stunning! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The sites had a decent amount of space between them and were fairly level. Full hook ups and had a variety of back in and pull through sites. Big rig friendly too. Depending on which site you’re in, you can hear some road traffic or the live band on Friday nights. We have a baby so we asked to be placed away from the music, and they were super accommodating. The bathrooms are spotless, and probably have the nicest and cleanest you’ll ever find at an RV Park. Showers are spacious! Laundry is also available and very convenient. Small grocery store, farmers market, hardware store, gas station, restaurants, and emergency health access near by! There is a playground for the kids, and a fenced dog park for your furry friends. Some short walking trails through a wooded area, as well as long a small pond and the river. The Rio Grande flows right through the park. This gold water fishing is just steps from your door, and you only have access if you’re staying at the park. Weekly community events, happy hour on-site with a live band. Community area with games, books, and cable tv. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 Stars was because while they were maintaining the grounds, they would spray weed killer and not place signs where they sprayed. I had to keep a mental note of where to not walk with my dog and baby in a stroller. But seriously, overall, this place is amazing! Highly recommend!
