Sites are hit and miss for working electrical. Grounds could use a lot of cleaning up. Love that the campground is in the forest. Peaceful and relaxing campground. WiFi is available for a price. Our phones worked fine on LTE. We would stay again. Wish they had more 50 amp sites. 30 amp wasn’t enough at times but we made it work. Again staff ladies were very helpful and nice.

This location is ONLY for people that want to get away and get back to nature, without any devices. I, however, work remote and only had emergency cell phone service. The WIFI offered at the park kicks you off every 2-3 minutes. I didn't even stay 24-hours. The roads in the campground are in disrepair, there are numerous potholes. It's 1st come, 1st serve with most of the 50-amp sites going to the seasonal campers.

This is a fine campground if you're not planning on being around it very much. The roads, as others have surely noted, are rough. The hills to get around the campground are very steep in some areas — surprisingly so. The place is not much to look at in general. That said, it's fully functional, you ought to drive slow with your rig anyway so the roads aren't too much worry, and it's on a pretty neat road/park that's a beautiful drive. So take it with a grain of salt :)

The other reviews were scary with the bridge and internet - maybe our expectations were low but this campsite wasn’t too bad! Bridge was terrifying (in a big fifth wheel) and you will have no service about an hour outside of the park. There is a make shift dirt side road beside the paved road under the bridge that gives at least 2 feet to additional clearance. We are about 13.5’ tall and made it with all AC’s intact. Also we purchased the internet for $15 for the week and we have been able to stream Netflix, work remote, and play Xbox with little issues (not perfect but better then anticipated). I had 4 bars of 5g for AT&T and no bars on my Verizon jet pack. We came in February and there are a lot of full timers/annuals here but it’s pretty quiet. It’s not very private in the spots. Staff has been amazing and helped us get into a double 30 AMP spot so we have no issue with power plus we had sewer hook ups. Hohenwald is like 30 minutes away and it’s a small town so when we come back I would already have a full gas tank and a full fridge this time.

#1 watch out for the low bridge! Check directions before you come! I’d give this a 3.5 if I could This campground is fine for a base for a little while. Pros: -Friendly/helpful staff -It’s pretty here -Lakes -There’s a pool but it was closed for winter so I don’t know if it’s good -Mini golf is so so -Quiet -Nice playground -Nice Dog park -Feels very safe -Pretty Clean bathrooms Cons: -The roads suck -We had some issues with power but they did send out an electrician to fix it. -WiFi isn’t great even if you buy it -Not many lake side or full hook ups available to non-annuals, most sites are 30 amp W/E -Some areas are pretty tightly packed -I’d recommend against arriving at night if at all possible Things to do: Natchez Trace has a number of stops in the area Amish Wagon Tour was really neat Shafer Meat Market has really good BBQ Lots of water falls in the area

As many have said their are a lot of yearly residents here so forget about a space along the lake. Also finding a full hook up site is next to impossible due to probably over 50% of the full hook up sites are taken by yearly residents. We are new Thousand trails members and did not realize they sold yearly spaces. The park was pretty much full when we stayed and due to the long term resident there is a lot of traffic mainly in Side by sides and golf carts. People drive way to fast with in the park. The park is nice and the facilities are clean getting access to the lake is tough due to the lakeside sites. There is a store on site If you are looking for a place to get away for a week you could do worse. We camped at Natchez Trace Thousand Trails NACO in a Fifth Wheel.

So this is our first time here. we came from the north down the Natchez trace parkway so when you turn right you go under the low 11' bridge.. have to say our friends went couple days ahead and we measured him to be 10'8" to top of AC unit.. when he got to bridge he stopped and had wife creep truck up while on the ladder of RV looking at it all.. he was like there was another almost foot of clearance. Plus if you look on street view there is a "path" on the side that takes you down another 2ish feet. I suspect all but a large class A or really tall 5th wheel can make it under the bridge. the entrance and exit on left have some serious steep drop offs on the sides. be sure to not cut the corner at all. the roads around the resort are CRAP for the most part. they are paved but some large potholes (just put some fricken gravel in them dammmm) so be on high alert for them. We were in section or Phase 2, also known as B as all the site number have a B under them. there is a mix of W,E,S with many just W, E and the elec can be 30 or 50 amp.. (more 30 amp) . some of the sites look unusable for the most part.. (short, narrow, overgrown etc.) many of the sites by the lakes are taken by annuals. We did not see anything in phase 2 that looked open.. There are lots to do,, putt putt course, basketball, game room etc. and the lake. You can rent kayaks and a pontoon boat as well. i hear. there is a nice dog park area up toward the putt putt and 50 amp sites by the boat ramp area. packages,, the official policy is no..but if something come they will take it ,, there is a $2 per package charge. either to ranger /check in station or the trading post store to pickup. the trading post serves the usual stuff, hot dog, hamburgers, and has beer, some other stuff on shelves and some rv parts stuff, but NOTHING is priced.. SMH.. they do rent kayaks for $16.43 (with tax) for 4 hrs and $27.38 for day.. they are mostly double boats with one smaller single.. you sign up at ranger station and get stuff down by beach.. We brought out our own boat. The lake is nice you can go a long ways down river. the pontoon boat is out of service for repair all year. CELL SERVICE... We and friend both had good ATT service.. ( 29 m down ) he has verizon and with booster was ok.. t-mobile was nothing. (site 84B and 209B) on map there is no 84 its 82.. again SMH.. The bath houses are ok.. the one in section B down by the lake is older.. Up by the pool there are 4 nice new looking and the bath house out by the boat ramp was real nice. there are several play areas for kids and a swim beach by boat dock.. RECYCLING.. there is a recycling center in town.. 641 waynesboro hwy, hohenwald, tn 38462.. Lewis County Transfer Station its called.. https://lewiscountytn.com/2020/03/09/recycling-for-lewis-county-at-the-lewis-county-transfer-station/ Wish more would post recycling center near the TT they stay in.. We try,, try to do our part so you can help to do yours.. recycle when you can..

This park is in a beautiful section of the Natchez Trace and close to some nice State Parks. However it does not have over 500 sites. Almost all the lakefront sites are taken by permanent folks and there are carports/decks/gazebos everywhere which makes this feel like a ramshackle village of sorts. ATVs and golf carts everywhere. If you like weekend party atmosphere on weekends when folks come to there permanent spots then this place is for you. WiFi is on a purchased plan and worked fine for us while we were there.

The campground is near the scenic Natchez Trace Parkway which doesn’t have reliable cell service. As a result, neither does the campground. The WiFi network seems new and worked really, really well for us. We could stream Netflix and surf without delay. The campground itself is older and needs improvement (as others have mentioned). There is an 11 foot bridge nearby but that’s not the fault of the campground. Come in from the south and you’ll be fine if you are over 11 foot. We liked our spot, it was spacious and fairly level. Plus full hookups near the playground.

Sites not well maintained. Some have electric that doesn’t work, some with water that doesn’t work. Won’t be back.

Free Through Thousand Trails. Stayed in Late November. Site 147 or nearby was a nice lakefront spot. Had the standard TT issues but there are some very nice sites here too. There are some steep slopes getting back to the site. Cell Service did not work so paid internet was needed.

If you are use to Thousand Trails you won’t be disappointed. Main roads are hilly and might be difficult in the snow. Reviews about no cell or no wifi access are not completely accurate. I was here in January so network usage was probably pretty low. I got mostly usable Verizon signal, 2 bars, 5Mbps, at the highest elevation in the park at phase 1. I think their wifi network is new and I found it to be a little better option that using Verizon and had 3 bars and 5-10Mbps depending on which option you pay for, the higher worked good for video with just occasional cut outs.

We selected full hookup site #70 in the phase 2 section. The rickety electrical box looked like it was built in the 1970's and we had to tap it a few times to actually get power. So we dropped our jacks, put out the slideouts and thought that all was well. Then around 6:00pm the electricity died for good. I called the office and of course nobody was there. Turns out that there is an after hours emergency phone number, but it is posted way back at the ranger station. Would it kill these people to print this number on the map? Other campgrounds do this routinely so it should be a no-brainer. Luckily we were able to move a few sites down and complete our setup again prior to sunset. The next day I explained the situation to a ranger station employee and suggested that they block off site #70 so no guests try to enter until the electrical box is fixed. She agreed enthusiastically and said that maintenance would be contacted right away. Well...they never blocked the site and the box remained in shoddy condition for the next week. The staff here really needs to try harder! Anyway the park itself is spacious and includes a recreation office, lodge and store. The phase 2 section men's bathrooms & showers were dirty and in dire need of immediate renovation. My wife said that the women's side was ok. Couldn't program any over the air TV channels at our site and my AT&T phone had zero bars. Paid $14.95 for 1 week of wifi and it was surprisingly good. YouTube even worked ok. We enjoyed biking down to the 50 amp RV section near the boat launch at the lake. Pool near the campground entrance seemed to be in good shape but we didn't try it. There is also a running track. WARNING: Make sure to approach this campground from the south on Hwy 241/Napier road as there is a low clearance 11 foot bridge just to the north. Be careful!

We’ve stayed at several Thousand Trails park and love that they are usually by water and have lots of trees and shaded sites. This park is the same. Some roads are narrow but we navigated it fine with a 40’ MH and tow. Staff is friendly, pool and playground were open and the kids loved them both. Sites are full hookup and level. Only a few 50amp sites but we managed to find a couple to choose from. Would stay here again. I did see the low clearance bridge but we entered another way, I recommend planning your way in around that if you won’t fit under 11’.

After much research we decided to go off of our typical Resort and State park rotation and try a 1000 Trails resort. The drive was beautiful except for an extremely low bridge (11ft) near the entrance to the resort which we had prepared for and it was not a surprise however when we arrived to the resort it seemed disorganized and fragmented. We knew it was a first come first serve in finding your site but what they don't tell you is that the majority of the premium sites near the water are taken up with homesteaders that have full on decks and foundations to the travel trailers. The roads crumbled underneath our motorhome and the steep terrain made it difficult for just adequate tow vehicles but the sites are well marked plus the map they give you is detailed. We had no lake access due to the homesteader having private access walkways that apparently they had created themselves. Bathrooms and town hall are clean and well thought out. Most activities were shut down due to the virus so no fault of the campground. My wife and two sons will not be traveling back to this location.
