Oct 23-27 stay. Site 13 waterfront BUT not this time of year. FYI Little to no rainfall and TVA always lets water out for power plant. Highest level in Spring and early Summer. No matter, we loved our stay here. Very few campers, quiet. The fall leaves just beautiful. Restrooms were clean, staff very friendly. Enough paved roadways to short bike rides. We took e-bikes on one of the forest trails, there are several. Not far from Knoxville, we went to the zoo and we also did the Appalachian museum nearby.

Kids loved it here! Already begging to come back, and we just checked out this morning! We stayed at site 33 and it was amazing! Lake and cove views, easy access to the lake for swimming and fishing, and a huge campsite with loads of room! Campground was virtually vacant and the kids rode their bikes on the loop throughout the day. Booking another getaway there next month!

Loyston Point is an excellent Campground in Andersonville, TN which is about 45 minutes from the Knoxville area. It is located on Norris Lake. Unlike Norris Dam State Park these sites are right on the Lake. There is water and 30 amp service. They also have kayaks, paddle boards, and even a pontoon boat to rent! All in all it was a great experience and a great place to stay. The bathrooms are dated, but they are very clean. They are also temperature controlled which makes a huge difference in the summer or winter. The staff is very helpful and nice. The dump station is not working, however, they do have a honey wagon. They will pump your tanks at no additional charge on your way out, or if you require additional pump-outs they charge a minimal fee, which I believe was $15. This one is definitely on our list to do again in the future. The largest downside to the park is the roads getting there. As long as you take the route listed on their website there is only one sharp turn that they recommend passing and coming from the opposite way. I didn't come in that way and there were a lot of narrow roads. I did leave that way and I'm pretty sure in my 30' fifth wheel I could have made the turn but I went on past it to see where you could turn around. There is another intersection just past that turn, there is also a church parking lot, Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, just down the road. If you are going down to turn around I recommend the road to the right just past the church. as the road splits and there is plenty of room to turn around without being on the more busy road. It almost appears that this road loops around, but the gps map showed a dead end.
