This is truly the only game in the New Haven area; or in the towns surrounding New Haven. This park existed before rules throughout the area that prohibit RV campgrounds and is therefore grandfathered into being allowed to exist. The best part of this park is the management; Nick is a gem to work with and is highly flexible and welcoming. He also makes sure you know the rules: no campfires, and no being loud. The worst part of this park is that it's actually pretty loud. Between the frequent dirtbike gangs ramming up and down the road backing up to the park and long-termers who are at the park on work contracts in the area letting off steam by playing their 80s buttrock for all to hear, this park is unpredictably noisy. Otherwise, it's really just fine. A place with full-hookups (30/50A, water, sewer, cable) to park your rig so you can venture out in your towed to see the creepy faces on the Yale buildings or poke about the seaside towns that dot the coast area. There is nothing much to do if you're without a vehicle, however. There is a gas station/convenience store, a local's bar, and a roadside grilled corn stand within walking distance. The RV portion of the park is mostly occupied by longer-term renters; those with non-permanent jobs in the area. While we were here, only 2 other sites were noted to house transient RVers. There is also the mobile home portion of the park, which is designated 55+. There are long-term RV sites mingled with mobile homes in this area - for those 55+. All sites are back-in; not all of them are level. All sites have a picnic table. Campfires are prohibited (this is not a campground). You can receive mail here. There is Wi-Fi, but we didn't test it. We would stay here again if we ever had reason to be in the area - mostly because the management is friendly and flexible and we just really appreciate that.
