We emptied our storage tank and replenished our water supply for just $14. The employees directed us to our spot which had ample room for maneuvering. We're traveling in a 32-foot Class C motorhome with a car hitched to the back! Entry and exit was a breeze!

We halted at this KOA while en route through Steamboat Springs to empty our containers, refill our water supply, dispose of garbage, and freshen up with showers. The day pass cost us $20!

Our 38-foot RV was comfortably accommodated here, along with our towed vehicle. There was adequate space for slide-outs and parking. We even traversed a bridge to an island. The personnel were extremely friendly and even relocated us due to some water problems in our initial area. Despite the lingering snow, we managed quite well. Steamboat, the local town, had a charming western flair. The campsite was equipped with solid concrete platforms, outdoor seating areas, and fire pits. I imagine it would be fantastic during the summer months.

I lodged here during my skiing trip at Steamboat. My spot was a back-in site by the river. Despite the significant snowfall, the site was fairly cleared out, which was satisfactory. The surroundings were extremely peaceful. The washrooms and shower facilities were well-maintained. I was grateful for the complimentary bus service to the city and the mountain. I would certainly consider revisiting this place.

Our experience at the Steamboat KOA during the previous summer was absolutely delightful. The staff there is outstanding and they go the extra mile to ensure you have a comfortable stay. Our dog, Sammi, received an unprecedented amount of affection. If you're bringing your children, they will enjoy the various activities available such as mini golf, a playground, and a swimming pool. The campground offers spaces for RV and tent camping, as well as cabin rentals. Facilities include on-site river fishing, a well-stocked camp store, mini golf, an excellent playground, and a swimming pool. The local town shuttle conveniently stops within the campground, providing easy access to downtown Steamboat. The KOA is also conveniently located near the Steamboat Ski Resort and other outdoor activities like hiking, fly fishing, biking, and tubing. Suggestions: * Opt for an RV site in the 90's or 100's - located across the bridge on the island * Dogs are greatly admired at this campground, so don't hesitate to bring them! * Utilize the shuttle service to visit the town and avoid parking hassles! It's easily accessible and frequently arrives at the campground. Steamboat Springs is easily navigable on foot. * Make a trip to the nearby Snow Bowl Steamboat for a round of bowling, happy hour, dinner, or live music * Remember to pack bug spray during the hotter months! * The older back-in sites are close to the road. Choose one of the new pull-through patio sites for an amazing stay with stunning views! Consult the map while booking.

You pay top dollar to park on what equates to a half-dead lawn. i have water, but i needed over 50 feet of hose to reach the faucet that im sharing with three sites. pet fee $5/pet per day. very small sites and very smokey from campfires. nothing good to say about the place but location.

The park itself is a fairly standard KOA - there are a fair amount of trees and shade but little ground vegetation and not much separation between sites. Gravel and patches of grass here and there. We had a back-in full hookup site - it was fairly tight. But what made up for the somewhat lackluster surroundings was: - Friendly and efficient staff. It was a very quick check-in and setup. - Right on the free bus line into town - in fact the covered stop is in the park itself. No need to drive into town. - Actually decent WiFi with standard logon - not the web page/form based pain in the rear. - Excellent cable TV - all stations available in HD, including Denver network affiliates. - Year-round (like most KOAs). I add this because in Colorado, all NFS campgrounds shut down at the end of the season and this is the rare campground so close to a mountain ski town that is open in the winter. It is entirely feasible to use this as a ski camp in the winter and just rely in the STS bus service once you settle in. It is just 3 miles to old town. I don't know of an equivalent setup anywhere else in the state. One negative is the early check-in/out fees - I bet they make a bundle of $25 fees for check-in before 2pm or check-out after 11am. Priced exactly at the point where you grumble but pay it.

We enjoyed our week-long stay in this beautifully maintained park. Check-in was efficient and staff is friendly. We were guided to our site, #71, a pull-through which is in the older section of the park. The site was grassy with a concrete patio, nice picnic table set with Adirondack style chairs, and mature trees for shade. The only negative for us is that the pull-throughs in that section are arranged nose to tail where you and your neighbor on the door side each have patios in a common seating area. No issues with utilities or getting level. Interior roads are well maintained and easy to navigate. Good phone and WiFi signal. There is some road noise in this section of the park during the day, but it dies down at night. The newer section of the park has much larger pull-through sites which are not nose to tail, it is further from the road, but has no shade. Dog-friendly with a fenced dog park and the workers offer dog cookies from their golf carts. We would return to this park if in the area.

Probably my least favorite KOA. Definitely NOT big rig friendly. We were in 2 different sites the paved area is very narrow and very short - just barely fit our rig. 1. The nickel and diming - $10/day extra for a second car and $5/day for a dog - plus tax. We were there 2 weeks so that added up quickly. What bothered me most is they don't put that on their website and even though they made us pay for the extra car they admitted they had no place for us to park it. 2. The pull-through sites in the older section are buddy sites and super small, so as soon as you walk out of your RV, you're greeted by your neighbors trying to enjoy their breakfast/dinner/quiet time. 3. The sap that fell from the trees was ridiculous. My husband rinsed both cars, RV and outside furniture every day just to try to keep things somewhat presentable but the ground was so sticky that everything stuck to your feet and you dragged it in with you. 4. Even though we had a pull-through site, we had to back out when we left because everyone is crammed in so tightly that between the pick-ups across their sites and the trees we were not able to pull out. 5. Good water pressure as long as the neighbors aren't taking a shower at the same time, then it's the same as having someone in the rig washing dishes while you shower. 6. Our slides broke, we asked if they had any info on a tech that would help. I was handed a business card and told he's the only person they will allow in the campground and he's booked up for months. These sites are quite pricey so to have zero room to put out a lounger or enjoy outdoor time without strangers right there is not something I'm interested in. Excellent location and very friendly staff though.

Been here before and will return again. The Staff is very friendly and professional and will help you with anything during your stay. Bathrooms and laundry room are very clean. Bears are in the area so don’t leave your “trash “ outside your rig or vehicle. Sites are well maintained and hookups well placed for your rig.

This is my second time here and this time I really enjoyed it. Here are the reasons why: - I had a back in site which had more privacy - My site had grass (we don't like concrete pads) - I had a tree which provided much needed shade The cons of this place: - The site are extremely close - You have to accept there is road noise - They seem to charge more because of the proximity to town - in fairness, it's worth it

I guess I need to start looking at satellite photos of the KOAs we book at, because we always seem to get stuck in one without any shade. That was the case at the Steamboat Springs KOA. We were on an end in the “old” section of the park and it was rather plain. I walked over to the “new” area over the Yampa River, but it seems like it is even more cramped and has less trees. Really not too much to say about this campground. It was OK for a night; light sleepers will find the road noise from Highway 40 objectionable if they’re stuck in the old section of the park.

Very clean and excellently maintained RV sites and Cabins. Lots for kids to do. Weather best June through September. Excellent wifi was much appreciated. Super friendly staff. Check activity calendar for town for lots to do. Choose a site away from highway or else you will have significant road noise. This is the opposite of remote or back country so embrace convenience to enjoy your stay.

This park is a KOA. What else can I say? With that, many of you already know that they have a variety of lodging options and many things to do for families. For me, the thing that sets one KOA apart from another is how we are treated and how the park is maintained. The staff here is great. They are welcoming and very helpful. The park is well maintained and it has a good stand of trees. Spots are mostly gravel with the interior roads paved. The park is about 2 miles west of town so it’s easy to get where you need to go. Power was good, water was good and sewer ports were convenient. Sites are close to one another but not horrible. The pull throughs are offset so you don’t feel as much like you are staring into someone else’s space. One of the best things about this KOA is that they have just overhauled and installed a modern Wi-Fi system. The staff told me when we checked in that it is truly high speed and works great so feel free to stream anything we want. More parks need to be willing to invest in this type of amenity. The biggest negative about this park is that they charge $5 a day for a dog. So for a week it’s an extra $35. Not sure why they feel the need to do this. My dog doesn’t use any utilities. He doesn’t sleep in a cabin. He doesn’t swim in their pool or play on their swings. Sadly, we are seeing more RV parks do this and I think it’s simply another way for parks to make extra money.

Pros: hot showers, laundry and general store on-site, decently spaced sites, great service. They recently installed mini-5G towers throughout the camp so WiFi was fast and reliable (except for one day). Cons: LOUD next to the highway with big rigs/trucks constantly passing by, bit of a walk to facilities if parked on far side since there's only one set of bathrooms/showers.

From the moment we came the staff were very friendly. The kids enjoyed the playground and I enjoyed the mini golf. Water and power worked well, cable tv seemed to have issues but I may have had a bad cable. There's enough room between sites on the river side.

Two previous KOA stays were a bust so this one delivered. Great location near bike trail to town, town has free shuttle bus that takes you right from campground , lots of Activities and friendly staff. Only downside is sites are fairly small and all dirt but overall great place

This is a mediocre RV campground at best. Nestled between the Yampa river and highway US40. We had one of the 4-5 RV sites on the river (water/electric only). Staff was professional, facilities were clean. The majority of the RV sites (westside) were extremely close to each other. There is a huge, nice tent camping area. The campsites are dirt. They exist and get away with high prices due to limited RV camping options around Steamboat Springs. If you like BBQ eat at Moe's Original BBQ just east on US40, fair prices and nice size servings.
