Our experience at Tiny Nation was genuinely delightful. The employees were exceptionally welcoming and offered a variety of enjoyable activities such as Bingo, Karaoke, and Hayrides. The fishing spot and swimming areas were fantastic, and the pet-friendly zones were superb. The swimming pool was not operational during our stay, but I am confident it will be excellent when it opens. The on-site camping shop is recently established and sufficiently stocked. Above it, you'll find a charming arcade and activity space. The mini-golf course exceeded our expectations compared to others we've visited. The washrooms were well-maintained, and the laundry facilities were exactly what we required.

This is a spacious campground set in a forested area, offering numerous facilities, seemingly aimed at those planning an extended stay. We visited for a single night in the early spring, before the site had been spruced up for the summer season. Many of the RVs appeared to be long-term fixtures with owners who were not currently present, which often leads to a lack of maintenance on the site and surrounding areas. Erosion from water runoff has damaged some of the dirt roads, and many of the sites require leveling. The washrooms were clean and sufficiently equipped. The mini-golf course was well-maintained, however, it, along with the swimming pool, was not operational during our visit. Given some investment, this campground has the potential to become a highly desirable RV destination.

We picked this campground to stay in while we visited Charlottesville. The site we had was very tight ,dirt and muddy site and very not level. The bathhouse was close and clean. This campground is not very convenient to Charlottesville and is out in the middle of nowhere.

Lots to do for kids and adults, like a giant jumping pillow and a huge chessboard. Well maintained and quiet at night. Only thing we didn’t like is there are no street lights. Once it’s dark it is DARK!

We stayed at Small Country for two months during the height of the pandemic. While a number of the facilities were shut down we still enjoyed our stay here. We were able to kayak on the lake and walk in the woods. Others were able to fish the lake. The owners, a multi-generational family who recently took over the campground, made us feel safe and welcome at all times. Once government restrictions are lifted this would be a great place for a family with kids to come on a vacation. They have a bounce pad, mini golf, and two beaches! The campground is located in the Virginia Piedmont so there are some changes in elevation in the campground and the owners have retained all of the mature trees. That means that many of the sites have nice shade, but it also means that it will take some effort to get level. I think that is a reasonable trade-off. The new owners are a three-generation operation and they are working so hard to upgrade the campground. Everyday they were all hard at work cleaning up sites, building a nature trail, painting buildings, upgrading the electrical service, etc. The nice thing is that they live permanently on-site, so your problem is their problem as well. So they address them asap.
