Ophir Reserve Campground

2800, Ophir
New South Wales, Australia

Dispersed bush camping alongside a creek, with free gold.
Ophir was a Gold Rush settlement, and a pan can bring back a bit of colour from the Lewis Ponds and Summer Creek. Great fun for the kids. There are quite a few spots to camp, some only accessable by 4wd. There are many little tracks around the area worth exploring if you want to stay away from other campers. There are historical remanants of the gold mining days around the area and sours are available through a working mine (Gunnadoo). Toilets, picnic tables and fireplaces are available. Water from the creek should be treated before use.

Access
This campsite is accessable with regular 2wd vehicles.

Getting there
The campground is accessable by 2wd vehicles, however if you have a high clearance 4WD you may be able to access some of the tracks that lead to more secluded sites.
