This place is huge, with lots of sites and lots of open spaces. It's located right on the shores of Lake Huron, with a quick shuttle ride to the Mackinac island ferry. We had an extra large site that we couldn't really take advantage of due to the weather. Other sites appeared to be pretty small, especially those with lake views. Staff here was super friendly and helpful. Showers and bathroom facilities were clean. We were here in late September, so the campground was only about 30% full.

This is the best campground we visited in MI. Our spot was pretty private, surrounded by wildflowers. The lake view spots look crowded, but we were in the 50-amp, full hookup sites that are just a short walk to the lakeshore. The kids had TONS of fun - they played mini-golf, enjoyed the playground, and they played wiffle ball in the big open lawn that was behind our campsite. Staff was so friendly. Our site was level and hook-ups were easy to reach. We were NOT eating dinner beside our neighbors’s sewer line like at so many places. Fire pits made the cool nights perfect for outdoor family time. Camp store was great and well supplied. We were lucky enough to see fireworks from the city on Tuesday night! Love this place and hope to comeback.

This is one of my new favorite campgrounds. It has a great family-friendly feel to it. Lots of kids and families enjoying spending time together which I love to see. We had an extra-large RV site. It was not near the lake, but it was an easy walk to the lake. The lake area is beautiful with lots of nice porch swings, and plenty of trees where you can hang up a hammock and relax. On Tuesday and Friday nights we could watch the Mackinaw City fireworks from the beach. The staff were all nice and friendly and I appreciated that they allowed me to have a package delivered there. Since I travel fulltime I sometimes need to find a hair salon. I found a good one in Cheboygan called Lavish Salon (about 15 minutes away). It was nice to have a shuttle to the ferry on the day we wanted to visit Mackinac Island. We also visited Whitefish Point, Tahquamenon Falls and Soo Locks from here. I work remotely so cell coverage is important to me. If that matters to you, here are the details: AT&T 11.5 dl/11.0 ul; T-Mobile 35.2 dl/2.10 ul; Verizon 21.8 dl/4.10 ul. Park WiFi worked okay depending on where you are in the park, and the park is very large. We loved this park and hope to come back again someday.

Campground was fairly quiet as it’s still the off season. We had a nice spot with views of the lake. It’s still cold this time of year (5/19-5/25) but we can live with that. What was bad were the midges. They are horrible this time of year and made it unbearable to be outside. If you had a site more inland then it wasn’t too bad. The other reason why I’m not giving it 5 stars is the site maintenance. Would have been nice to mow the grass and not walk around in 6” high grass.

We averaged $60 / night for 3 nights for W/E50/S/I. Our dirt site was spacious, somewhat shady and the roads within the campground were smooth, wide and easy to travel. This is a huge campground and a unique thing was that the directions to our site was printed on the tag for our car. The free internet service was very good. Our sites was very unlevel. It sloped 6 to 8 inches between our rear and front tires so leveling was a challenge. For $60 / night, I expect a more level site. This campground is only 3 miles from Mackinaw City where a ferry can take visitors to Mackinaw Island. We had done that on a previous trip so we visited the Mackinaw Bridge Museum and the Headlands International Dark Sky Park.

They promote that they have wifi both free and upgraded. While it is true that there is free wifi it is worthless. The upgrade I paid for made zero difference. Zero. When I complained they said “yeah the wifi here sucks”. Like duh! Location great access to the lake great site clean folks friendly —but be warned. Your offline the whole time

This was our 3rd time staying here. Every trip has been perfect! The staff is always very friendly and helpful. There are beautiful views of the lake, bridge and island. They have a shuttle to the ferry and a bike rental so you do not have to deal with rental on the island. There were fireworks on the weekends and lots of things for the kids to do. There is a great trail that you can use to ride into the city! #vanbeas

I would highly recommend Mackinaw Mill Creek. The camp ground is very we’ll maintained, clean with bike and walking trails. I loved the manicured lawn along the lakefront with benches, swings and fire pits available. Further, the trees lining the lakefront allowed for all to put up their Enos and enjoy the weather. I can’t wait to come back.

I checked in around 6pm and set up camp. This place is huge and hard to find your way around, especially at night. At 10pm I needed to use the rest room so I walked to the the nearest one. I located it during daylight so I had no trouble getting there. However, on the way back, I ran across a group of 6 boys (early teens) on their bmx bikes. They decided to make a game of who can get the closest to me at the fastest speed. They were coming inches from hitting me. I turned on my cell phone light so I could see the road and they accused me of video taping them and one stopped to take my phone from me. I ran into the trees and hid. When I came out, I must have turned around because I was more than an hour trying to find my way back to my site. Finally some campers came out to help me. I am 66 years old and have never felt more unsafe. There is too little lighting over the street letters and it’s very easy to get lost. Quiet hours are after 10 but these boys were very loud way closer to midnight and no security officers were to be found. I was quite shaken but security didn’t seem to care since I “was now back to my site”. I was booked for 2 nights but left after the first one.

First off, let me say that the customer service here was really great. Everyone we talked to was really friendly and helpful. This campground just didn't fit our own personal comforts. It was by far the biggest campground we'd every stayed in - like a camping city. We had to use the map to get in and out of our camp site. We booked a large site, which was smaller than expected, just a typical site fairly close to neighboring campers. I didn't feel comfortable at all letting my kids ride their bikes or explore here just because of the sheer size and number of people/cars. We actually booked 3 nights and ended up leaving a day early just because we were ready to move on.

First of all- this is one of the better campgrounds in the lower that you will have amazing views from and a wonderful experience. If you want isolated large sites, parties, and excellent cell or cable- go elsewhere. This is remote with limited reception, even their premium WiFi sucks. The sites are cramped, even our pull thru was snug side to side but that’s fine, we brought our own solo stove fire pit and managed to move ourselves around and use the entire length. The views and the proximity to scenery is amazing. Five minutes and you’re on the bridge. We hardly stayed at the campground during the day, woke up and went off adventuring. There’s plenty to see over and in town, avoid the crowds and you’ll be happy. I will say the people here neee to learn more manners, I can’t count how many kids I yelled at for dumping their bikes on our site; I would’ve just backed over them but the parents moved them.

Mill Creek was the 1st stop on a month-long Upper Penninsula camping trip. And Mill Creek was a wonderful start. The campground, which is huge and has over 600 sites, is privately owned. It stretches along the south shore of ths Straits of Mackinac, providing great views of Mackinac Island and the Mackinac Bridge. Much of the shoreline is open parkland, rather than campsites, which gives everyone equal access. There is a camp store for for some food/beverage items as well as some camping items. They also offer discount Mackinac Island ferry tickets. Free wifi is available for calls and texting. If you want streaming, you have to upgrade for $3.99 per day (at the time we were there). The sites are adequate in size and mostly surrounded by trees and shrubs, providing some privacy. But they are still a little close to other campers. Overall, this is a nice place to set up your camped as a base while you visit Mackinac Island and the area?

HUGE campground with lots of amenities. We stayed in the narrow lake view spots and would highly recommend. Gorgeous views of Huron, the bridge and Mackinanc island. Site is small but there are hedges trees shrubs between each that definitely helped. Crap tons of kids out on bikes skateboards and just running around being kids. Really cool to have a fire on lake edge but claim your spot early!

Pro: very large campground with lots of amenities; big green park area right on Lake Michigan for viewing Mackinac Bridge; close to ferry to Mackinac Island & shuttle to ferry. Con: no laundry( sites vary in size - ours was very narrow with nothing to separate sites next to you - very difficult for large RVs to back into; weeds in back of sites & around trees. No one to direct you to site. Staff: met some who were nice but one staff gave us wrong information regarding shuttle & supervisor rude & yelled at us for standing in wrong spot to board shuttle. We left Campground one day early because of unhelpful & rude response to our needs. Few to no bars with Verizon

We had a wonderful stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a small site but it was more than big enough for our 22’ camper. Excellent privacy with trees and bushes between sites. The showers and bathrooms were clean. Pool and playground looked well kept but we did not use them. Fire pits on the water were available and made for great evening! Close to the ferry for island access and a shuttle was available.
