Laanecoorie River Reserve Campground

Laanecoorie

Riverfront camping on extended grassed tiered flats, overlooking the reasonably large London River. Some sites shaded by River Red Gums and a few exotics. Local fishing and swimming reserve. Facilities include WC block, 4 benches, bins, 4 way power outlet but no formal BBQ.

McLennons Punt Campground

Riverside site by the wide and deep lower Glenelg River. A grassed clearing with 3 sites close to each other, shaded by mature pines and Yellow Gums. Only 1 site level. Plentiful bird life. Backed by Brown Stringybark forest, tea tree, dense bush and wildflowers. Jetty Rated at 4.

Sheringa Beach Campground

Basic bush camping behind sand dunes, with a short stroll over the dunes to the beach. This is a great spot if you want a bit of seclusion and don't mind not having all the creature comforts. I have been told that you can catch a few Salmon here, but for the life of me I can't seem to get one.

Loop Road Campground

Comfortable. 2wd accessible campground with toilet facilities. There are a number of scattered sites here among low scrub, not far from Salt Creek. If you have a caravan, there are a couple of spots near the toilets (you will be camping on the roadside).

Lake Hattah Campground

Tranquil, pleasant lakeside camping shaded by scattered River Red Gums and some Black Box. A large, open semi-dispersed site backed by red sand hills to the west, which can provide shelter if required. Facilities include 2 WC, 18 tables & BBQs, firewood & water limited. Rate 4.

Burnt Bridge Campground

Extended, narrow, level flats by the Big River, well shaded by Southern Blue Gum and Peppermint with tea-tree understory secluding many sites. Popular at peak periods. Rated 4. 4/5 Surrounded by steep forested slopes. AccessThis campsite is accessable with regular 2wd vehicles.

Baileys Rocks Campground

Very comfortable campground amongst the ancient and rare green granite rocks and eucalypts. This campground is vety spacious and has well grassed tent sites and plenty of shade.

Moonambel Picnic Area Campground

Also known as Mountain creek. Camping in the Picnic Area near the town of MoonambelBasic facilities with long drop toilets, picnic tables and plenty of trees for shade. It is just out of town, and was empty the last couple of times I stayed here.

Yachting Point (Blowering Dam) Campground

Large grassy campground, suitable for caravans on the shore of Blowering DamThis is avery large campground and is very popular. There are no designated sites, just lots of open grassy areas and a few scattered trees for shade.

Chookarloo Campground

Lovely bush camping among native forest in the Kuitpo Forest Reserve near Meadows in South Australia. (Closed during fire danger season (Dec to Mar)There are basic facilities here (toilet, sheltered picnic tables and a water tank).

Glendinning Campground

Pleasant lakeside camping in open dry sclerophyll forest within Rocklands State Forest. Reasonable shade provided by Manna and Yellow Gum over short grass (slashed) and gravel. Most sites slope a little and have water views. The water edge is close, even when the reservoir is only 25% full.

Wannon Falls Campground

A secluded camping area in a large reserve of dry sclerophyll open forest over short grass on a level, gravelly plateau above the Wannan River. Camping area is distant from the day area, next to a small cricket ground but open to the through access road.

Genoa Rest Area Campground

Level river flats above the Genoa River. By the old highway bridge. Originally a caravan park, power has been disconnected and a tennis court added. Mature gum shade. Secluded site possible to north of tennis court overlooking river. Picnic tables, barbecues, toilets and pay equipment.

Baan Hill Picnic Area Campground

Port Parham Campground

Ocean front camping in very large level council reserve. This campground gets very busy at times, particularly with the caravaning croud. The water is very shallow and makes for easy crabbing.

Glendora - Hill End Historic Site Campground

Near the historic town of Hill End, this is a well provisioned campground suitable for families and caravans. There are a variety of sites, some powered and most suitable for caravans.

Teddington Resevoir Campground

Stuart Mill

A popular, pleasant lakeside camping area surrounded by rough, forested hills. Fireplaces and tables (9) are scattered but may have to be shared at peak periods. Thin shade from Yellow and Grey Box to most sites. Most sites slope. Rated 4.

Sennis Recreation Area Campground

Secluded, attractive, extended grassy flat on a horseshoe bend of the Tyers River. Shaded by tea tree and wattle (which separate sites) short green grass (slashed), surrounded by Messmate and Southern Blue Gum covered ridges. Kookaburras and a multitude of small birds are common.

Seven Creeks Reserve Campground

It appears camping may not be officially allowed at this site. Note: This is not considered an official campsite, one visitor has noted. . . The campsite described above is in a Nature Conservation Reserve managed by Parks Victoria. The information provided above is misleading.

Oallen Campground

CLOSED - unfortunately it appears camping is no longer permitted here as no camping signs have been put up (see comments at bottom of page). A delightful natural camping area on low sand hills above the pebbly Shoalhaven River.

Maisie Thompson Campground

A nice little camp spot run by the town with power, toilets and hot shower. Maisie Thompson Camping Ground is in Gooloogong, almost the half way point between Forbes and Cowra A small quiet friendly country town It is across the road from the pub and small shops as well.
