Avis
Écrire un avisWe picked this campground because it would take Passport America (rate reflects the discount). This is actually a Thousand Trails/Encore Park. After staying at two of them, we have learned that at a Thousand Trails parks, you pick your own site. We'll remember that for the future. We arrived just as a hurricane was threatening the East Coast. The staff put us on "high ground" which meant we were in the middle of all the seasonal sites. While we appreciate their concern, the hurricane was not going to hit and we were stuck staring at a junky seasonal site for a week. We talked to others in the campground that loved it here. They were on sites that were not near the seasonals. We'll take note next time. Note, if you show up and you are not a Thousands Trail member, you will get a phone call AND a visit from the camp host trying to get you to sign up. She was nice enough about it....but I really didn't want to be bothered. The campground has gravel roads and is full of pine trees. Electric was OK, water was good, cable TV was excellent (for additional $2 per day). OTA TV was non-existent. There is WiFi if you want to pay $6 per day and it only works up at the camp office. Verizon 4G data worked if my cell phone was propped up in the window on the RV. This is not a great location if you want to tour the Hudson Valley. There is a mountain between you and the Hudson River. After driving over the mountain for 4 days straight, we were sick of the 40 minute commute to see the sights. All in all, if you are a Thousands Trail member and can stay here for free, go for it. If you are looking to visit Hyde Park, etc, I would stay closer to the river.

We came here for a few days to get caught up on school and work and this place was great. Cell phone coverage was good enough to use hotspot, but they did have camplink wifi which seemed to all have really good signal strength but we did not try it out. Our spot was a really good size and all the ones around us were as well. At least 50-70 foot long back-in sites. Full hookup was great. We had 50 amp (only) power which worked just fine. Backing up to a river was a nice setting as well. There was a large pool (closed because of the season) as well as multiple activity areas that were a bit outdated but fine to use. We also had a couple of playgrounds for the kids as well as plenty of walking areas for the dog. Laundry was $1.75 for wash and $1.75 for dry - so a good rate. New washers and dryers (4 of each) which was adequate. Unfortunately no off leash dog area. There were a few places it could be added (a small fenced area) which would be a nice touch. The setting overall was really quiet and nice. Nearby some hiking trails in the mountains. Driving in we had to go up a few mountains to get here, but it was really nice scenery. While there, if open, make sure to go to Arrowood Farms up the road as well as the main farm in town for shopping. We have Thousand Trails membership so this place was free as well!

An older campground that has kept up with the times. Plenty of activities all day long, community fire at night along with a movie. Sraff was helpful and friendly. Good food and breweries near by

Second time here. Lots of rain before we arrived so a good deal of mud. Decent back in full hook up spot. Could have been a bit cleaner, fire pit full of trash. Table cloth still on picnic table. We love this place for the proximity to Minnewaska state park preserve and its carriage trails for bike riding. Also, the Westwind Cidery is awesome. Both very close. Plus lots of rail trails. Seems to be a lot of kids and there was a DJ on Saturday night until 11pm if that's your thing. We stay for the location more than the campground. Oh, and if you're a campfire lover, you can get quite a bit for $40 at Standing Rock farms about ten minutes away. Cheers!

Spent two nights here in late August of 2021. The campsites all have fire pits with grills and picnic tables. There's a full time campsite host, showers, bathrooms, and a trash room. Pros: - some of the sites are right by a stream, and all of them have plenty of shade. - campsite was clean and well maintained - campsite hosts were friendly and helpful - tons of nice hiking trails nearby - restrooms were clean Cons: - some of the sites are pretty close together. Our "neighbors" both nights were pretty quiet, but if they weren't, it could have been noisy. - while the bathrooms were clean, the showers definitely weren't. Bring you shower sandals! - It can get a little busy on the weekends, so worth reserving in advance. We were camping in a VW Westfalia, so we had no trouble getting in and out. Something bigger might have a problem with some of these sites. They're definitely intended to be tent sites.
