Despite initial doubts due to previous feedback, we decided to make a reservation and it turned out to be a great decision. We needed accommodation while in town for UT graduation and to visit relatives. There aren't many camping sites in the immediate vicinity of Knoxville. However, this one was conveniently located close to the city center and other nearby places. The campsite is a bit aged and we could understand why it had received negative comments in the past, but it's clear that improvements are being made. I suggest securing a spot on Row A by the lake, as these are particularly pleasant level gravel lots. We'll certainly return!

Stayed here to move our son in to college. Was not pectins much but more run down than I expected. Think I will try downtown Knoxville parking deck next time.

The price per night I listed is with tax and without discount (reservation made online). To get discount (AAA, Good Sam, Veteran, etc.) you will need to call to book. Overall this was a very pleasant experience. I was able to get assistance (a spotter) for backing into my location due to a tree being nearby. You can tell this is an older campground but you can also see where efforts are being made to improve it. Wonderful lake view. I was originally concerned about what view I would have due to the online map showing tent camping between the RV area and lake. It appears that has been changed to general access area for people to use (walk dogs, go fishing, sun bathing, frisbee, etc.). Great area with lots of trees. The bathhouse, while a little dated, was well kept. The pool also looked to be maintained well. Only two very slight negatives. The 30A electrical plug was getting a little tired (a little loose) and the water connection was a bit low to the ground. I’ve already booked another stay here and I’m looking forward to it! As for the negative reviews I’ve read here I can only think they may have been wanting a resort.

Wow this was the worst campground I have ever entered. We were booked for 3 nights but left after the first. It is nothing at all like the description on the website and the pictures must have been from 10 plus years ago. The place was a dump, sites were not level at all. The hookups were sketchy. Our site had a deck attached to it that looked like it was ready to fall down. The post were clearly rotted and it looked like someone had backed into it as well. The fire pit had 2 foot tall grass growing out of it and looks like it hadn’t been used all summer. There was no picnic table on our site and just as well because the ones I did see looked nasty. Many of the campers there looked as though they had been there for a long time. This park may have been nice at one time but it really lacks in the upkeep now. I would not recommend this park to anyone.

Enjoyed our stay at Southlake, their monthly rates were competitive for the area, and we stayed for 4 months at site D11. ATT LTE was fast enough that my wife could teach VIPKid each morning, while we were streaming Netflix downstairs. No issues with T-Mobile cell service, even opted to use that to stream a few times.
