Camping la Garrofa is a campsite with 100 pitches in Almería, Spain, located in the Andalusia region. On site you will find wifi, a camp shop, a restaurant and fresh bread in the morning.
You can camp here with a tent, a caravan or a camper. Besides camping you can also rent a cabin, a chalet or an apartment.
For swimming there is an outdoor pool, an indoor pool and natural swimming water. There are several recreational activities on the campsite, such as a playground, kids entertainment, table tennis, bike rental, sailing and surfing and fishing.

This is a quite site with the sea just feet away.you can watch the dolphins swimming most days.The beach is small and never crowded .This is a great place if you like to snorkel . The restaurant / bar is run by a lovely lady serving excellent food and if it`s not on the menu,tell her what you want and she will have it for the following day. We are going there in Sept 2013 for a couple of months. Les & Shirley

The camp site itself is a bit run down but politely so,the pitches are big enough closer to sea to suit six berths campers.If your lucky enough to have a pitch on the beach the views are breathtaking day and night .There is a regular bus service right outside the camp site right for Almeria situated 2kms north and left for Aquadulce a couple klicks south so shopping isnt a problem either,Almeria being a large city and Aquadulce a much smaller but friendly town with great beech bars.The price at garrofa varies during the year, june till 1st of september being the height of season ,long stays can be as cheap as 10.50 euros a night with electric.There is a bar/restaurant which serves excellent traditional spanish food at good prices ,the chicken soup is to die for.There is a childrens play area but with the beach seems to be redundent.

Wij zijn hier geweest met onze camper van bijna 8 meter en konden makkelijk op een plek staan. Er zijn genoeg camperplaatsen waar deze paste. Er zijn hele leuke plaatsen die zelfs bijna op het strand liggen onder rietmatten tegen de rotsen aan. Alsof je op een eiland zit. Het ligt in een kleine baai waardoor je het strand alleen voor de camping hebt. op de fiets is het makkelijk te doen naar Almeria.Men is erg behulpzaam. Er lopen wel wat zwerfkatten rond. Wifi is tegen betaling verkrijgbaar.

Op deze camping gaan staan omdat deze in de Acsi Campergids 2013 vermeld staat. Wij waren met een camper van 7.30m en konden nauwelijks op de plaats staan. Het waren rommelige plaatsen met hoge stoepranden, wat het op de plaats rijden moeilijk maakte. Sanitair hebben we al helemaal niet gebruik zijn de volgende dag zo snel mogelijk weg gereden.
