There is a creek that runs through the entire campground and each site is along the creek. You can float from the north end of the campground to the south which takes about 30 minutes. All sites are good and you can tell that they go through and try to get them level every season. Every weekend they have a new theme for activities. This recent weekend was a carnival where they had carnival games, a dunk tank, and cotton candy. They also had a paint night on Saturday. Power at the site was good and they had water hookups as well. No cell service there, but they do have WiFi. You need to be fairly close to the office to get the signal though so if you need it then stay in a site around the office. They also just put in a very nice playground and a few Yurts.

After avoiding a kid on a motorcross bike, I entered my site to find there would be no way to open my slide. Too tight a fit with the overgrown trees. I immediately stepped out into dog mess Thought it might be random, but discovered several dogs just wandering the campground ... poop as you please. Decided to stick it out, no refund policy. The bathhhouse YIKES don't think cleaned ever! The campground does have a new playground, but have let the rest just go to crap. I would not stay here again.

We stayed here in 2007, and decided to revisit our old "most favorite campsite in Alaska". Tolsana Wilderness did not disappoint. It's a beautiful campground, every site is on the river, and well spaced from other sites. It's beautiful, quiet, and "our kind of camping" because you're in nature, not a parking lot. It's well worth the $33 a night, and the 3/4 mile gravel road drive in. Tolsana Wilderness is still our favorite privately owned campground in Alaska...12 years running.

20-miles west of Glennallen. About 0.75 miles off the highway. Electric and water at some of the sites. A dump station is also available. Grayling in the river. 1-mile trail to "Mud Volcano" - great for various animal tracks - Bug dope and "other" protection means advised. Local Copper Valley Telecom service yet cell booster would help.

Really lovely wooded camping with a young family running it. Every campsite is on the Tolsona River. Your choice of electric and water or not. All the amenities plus wifi depending which site. We would definitely stay here again.
