Avis
Écrire un avisFantastic green space. A few areas are near each other, though divided by greenery. Ideal spots for cycling and strolling. Adorable coffee shop (visit their webpage for operating times) that offers more than just the essentials, along with outdoor seating for viewing sunsets. The staff is welcoming. Well-maintained washrooms and laundry facilities. This park is a secret treasure with more affordable charges compared to surrounding parks. Shops and eateries are in close proximity. The cost encompasses all additional features.

We just got back from spending 2 nights at Tomoka and really enjoyed the stay. One way to classify Florida state park campgrounds is snowbird RV approved or a local family campground. Tomoka is much more the later. It does seem to be a fisherman’s and/or kayakers paradise. We visited the camp store and found it well stocked with the basics, including beer. While close the sites are private side to side due to the dense brush a real plus. Sites are sandy and seemed to drain well when it rained. Road is sand, twisty (don’t cut the oak tree go around), and bumpy with some deeper holes. Some low hanging branches. These conditions combined with the road being narrow and sites not always angled well for backing up indicates big rigs will have problems. Most rigs seemed to be well under 30 feet. We felt very at home at 18 feet. Water and electric were good. Dump station was very accessible although sandy. Restrooms were well kept and clean. They did their best to control the sand. As others have mentioned the drive outside the gate south to Ormond Beach is a beautiful tree tunnel through the park, 4-5 miles at 35 mph. Dinner at Hull's, very good.

Really nice spots that were private thanks to the great Floridian Flora. Immaculate bathrooms. Loved the Tomoka Outpost - great spot for a sunset beer or to rent kayaks. Say "Hi!" To Captain Corn!

Nice place to stay if you have a golf cart or boat.

What a cool drive in... the canopy... pure Florida. Check it out on Google StreetView if you need convincing. The park itself is spread out nicely. Lots to do and see. For those looking for a beach, its an easy drive into Ormond Beach, but I stress it is a drive. On a map it might look like you're super close to the beach... but you are very much on the river at this park. Its not a swimming river. This is a place to hike a trail, or take a kayak out on the water and look for turtles, and matinee, or even gators. The woods are alive with wildlife from possum to lizards to frogs. You can see a great deal of stars at night even being so close to the city. Lots of ranger led activities for the kids. Snow bird's paradise here. If your looking to camp on the beach keep looking... if being close to the beach is acceptable look here.
