Avis
Écrire un avisMy initial plan was to spend 10 days at River's End but I ended up prolonging my stay to a full month. The road markers on the island are not very visible, so I would advise driving slowly. Checking in was a breeze and I was guided to the gravel parking space by the staff. The ground was slightly uneven but it wasn't too bad. The park is full of trees providing a lot of shade. I visited in December and January, and I found it convenient to be able to refill my propane on the premises. There's a pool which looked inviting, but it was not operational during my visit. The beach is within walking distance but other amenities require a 15-20 minute walk. Many fellow campers made use of golf carts, which are available for rent on the island, and I understood why they were popular. The laundry facilities were small but sufficient. The showers were spacious and well-maintained, although they could benefit from more storage space. The heating and water pressure were excellent. I've contemplated numerous times whether to abandon my ongoing journey and return to River's End, which speaks volumes about my experience. It was exactly what I was looking for.

The internet connectivity is extremely subpar. Carry an engaging novel as it will serve as your prime amusement.

We booked this campground because of its location to Savannah. We also liked its close proximity to the beach. The only negatives I can say is that when we arrived we noticed a bunch of toilet paper on the bush behind our site. It looked like someone dumped their waste right behind the site 𤢠in the bushes. I don't know why someone would do that with a sewer hook up. I notified the desk and they gave us a free bag of fire wood but the entire time I worried about us and our two small children walking on near it. So gross. Also when we were getting packed up to leave my husband stepped in dog poop and walked it all over the place before we left. I know this can happen anywhere but it was a turn off. I don't think we will be returning. We had fun on the beach and in downtown Savannah. The campground was just ok.

We came for Tybee Island but more for Savanna. Our site was a pull thru that borders the street. The staff escorts you to the site. They also are on top of clean up and making everything is tip top. I would stay again for visiting the area. BTW it is 16 miles back to Savanna. My only complaint is the dinky picnic tables - like children’s size

Easy access to great beaches and the shops and restaurants of Tybee Island. Quick bike ride made the beach very accessible. Stayed in Mid October with Mid Season rates. Site 142 was between other campers and we stayed a 3rd night at site 124 which backs up to foliage. Great staff was happy to accommodate our plans on the fly.
