We stayed 7 nights at the Leavenworth thousand trails and while it was fine for the most part, there were a few things that were an issue. The roads within the campground are very tight and there are trees everywhere, so it’s not easy to maneuver if you have a larger rig. There were many sites without working power, and the few full hookup sites were taken by people who lived there full time, which typically wouldn’t have been an issue. However, since there weren’t sewer hookups, we planned to use the bathrooms to shower to save room in our tanks. Every bathroom was absolutely disgusting and looked like they hadn’t been taken care of in decades. We ended up driving to the planet fitness in wenatchee to shower because we couldn’t fathom showering in their bathrooms. Also, the road to get to the campground was winding and long. It’s about 18 miles from town, which isnt usually an issue, but the road was just annoying to drive. We didn’t encounter any employees at the park until our last day, but Linda and Nils were really helpful! If you want phone service, stay near the road, the further back you go, the less cell service there is. Overall, not the worst for being free, but we likely would not come back.

This campground is part of the Thousand Trails network. We are members so we do not pay a nightly fee the above rate is an estimation for non-members. The campground is well maintained and the staff is very friendly. Would be a great family vacation spot with many activities available. Cell phone coverage is excellent at the lodge and the nearby sites but becomes more spotty the further out you get.

We stayed here for Christmas and New Years. They did a great job maintaining the campground during the snow storms. Our family had the best time here. Everything was always kept clean and the staff was always so friendly and would go above and beyond making sure we had all we needed. It is about a 30 minute drive to Leavenworth but there was so much to see and do and that area that the drive wasn’t that bad. That area is still considered Leavenworth so they are not misleading as other comments have indicated. We can’t wait to come back to this campground!

Thousand Trails Leavenworth RV Campground is located approximately 30 minutes north of the quaint mountain town of Leavenworth. In this video, I provide a walking tour of Thousand Trails Leavenworth RV Campground. The positives outweigh the negatives at Thousand Trails Leavenworth. Also in the video, we briefly highlight the Bavarian village of Leavenworth, the local fish hatchery where we viewed wild salmon swimming in the river, and a few nearby scenic sites within the Wenatchee National Forest. Verizon cellular service clocked in at 1.74 Mbps download speed and 0.50 Mbps upload speed. AT&T cellular service clocked in at 4.34 Mbps download speed and 0.45 Mbps upload speed. T-Mobile cellular service clocked in at 3.85 Mbps download speed and 0.20 Mbps upload speed.

Agree with other reviewers that it is misleading that the address is Leavenworth when it is 18 miles north of town. However, the forest is nice, as is the campground. The electrical issues that others talked about are still there - but the no-power sites are clearly marked, they tell you upon checkin which sites these are, and they do not accept reservations for these sites. Well managed I would say. The sites are relatively close together but many trees provide some privacy. The pool, common rooms, and mini golf areas are clean and well maintained. Surprisingly, we had great cell service here - 3 bars with no booster!

Misleading that it states Leavenworth as the location - campground is 20mi/30min outside of Leavenworth. Beautiful setting but the campground is in serious need of some up keeping. Would definitely stay here again when in search of a more rural camping experience, but it’s not workable for us because I work from our RV and there’s no internet and spotty cell service. Very limited spots with full hookups.

Good news is that we had the entire lake view side of the campground to ourselves. Great views and a playful otter. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good dump station. Fun hiking trails, and incredible fall colors. Drive in on Chumstick hwy can be vomit-inducing with a few very tight turns for big rigs. Feels like driving into Leavenworth is a chore. Power was out for almost every full-hookup site, and the ones that had power were under the threat of power being turned off for maintenance any day. We moved to the other side of the park after one day, no full hookups, but had 30-amp and water. After a few days the water was disconnected due to freezing, they have a water refill station near the entrance.

Stayed for one week. Park was not big friendly. Cutoff tree stumps covered by brush at the beginning of sites. Electric was going on and off even for 30 amps. Was told repairs were in the near future. Park was scenic and loaded with trails. Staff was friendly. Roads were very dusty

I hate to be negative, but while this Park has great potential, this review is very much like those written years ago. Same problems have been identified but no improvement that I can see. THE POSITIVE: This facility had a large well-kept pool, but closed due to the COVID virus. Walking Trails were plentiful, some of the facilities were fairly recently built but closed. I am glad the campground was open as many things are still closed due to COVID. The staff is friendly and helpful at the front and on the phone. There are many things to do nearby, including visiting Leavenworth itself. THE NEGATIVE: Sites are very close and dusty due to the quality of the gravel road. Traffic here is high. Yes after several years, some sites still have signs stating the electrical is broken. Water fixtures pouring water on to the ground labeled that they are scheduled to be repaired, but leaking since I got here. When I say"leaked" it was more of a stream of water. Seldom did you see staff out in the park monitoring anything? Many sites are unusable due to size and shape, poorly graded or trees in the way. Sites are mostly dirt. I'll stop there. I would stay here again only because I didn't pay $67 a night. I don't think it's worth that much money, but during the summer you'll need to reserve early! Am I being negative? I hope not. Just realistic.
