Sites of a decent size were well-maintained. - The personnel was amicable and accommodating. - Our spot had ample room and was separated from other sites by grass and a petite patio. - The washrooms and shower facilities were kept clean. - There was a provision for cable TV. - Walmart, gas stations, and quick-service restaurants were conveniently nearby. Please note that this place is approximately a mile away from the Black Hills Speedway, and during a race event, it may seem as though you're right there at the racetrack.

We arrived without a reservation in late October. The campground was officially “closed” but they were open to self check-in self contained (have your own bathroom and shower) RVs. Check in was easy at their kiosk. The sites were fairly level and drive through. There is ample room with a firepit and picnic table. Not much for tree cover. Antenna reception was good for all networks. AT&T had 3 bars 5G. The WIFI was excellent but that may have been a factor of how few people were staying there. It is located fairly centrally in Rapid City so close driving access to Sturgis, Deadwood, Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore, etc.

In mid October the campground was quiet, but full hookups are available. Nice sites, game room, playground etc. Near the highway, but access to Rapid City. (About 30 mins from Mt Rushmore)

Dates: May 11 - 16. This was an awesome KOA. They were able to accommodate us on VERY short notice (morning of) with 30 amp FHU pull through spot. The park was quite large and had multiple laundry facilities and a small arcade. The dog park was decently sized (could have been much bigger though). They had breakfast every morning for a very good price (pancakes, eggs, etc). There was some inclement weather a couple nights (tornado watches and hail warnings) but the staff was very good at alleviating our concerns. Verizon signal was good.

Very nice campground. Clean restrooms and affordable laundry. The area was clean. They offered a nice breakfast every morning and it was very affordable. We had biscuits and gravy, next time will be all I can eat pancakes. This campground was within about an hour of Badlands NP, Minuteman Missile NHP, Mount Rushmore NM, Jewel Cave NM, Wind Cave NP and the Black Hills NF. The area was close to busy streets but was fairly quiet. The campsite we stayed in (198) was pretty close to our neighbor’s site. We will definitely think about staying here next time we are in the area.

We pulled in near close, 9PM, and we’re able to get a last minute, full service site. There was lots of open space. The facilities were clean. Pancakes available in the morning for $3 a person. We plan to stay here again with our kids. There is a beautiful pool, playground, and dog park.

Upon arrival pulled up to office, greeted by some of the friendliest host!!! Shown to our sites by host. Sites are close but we had the premium site with paved patio and some of the heaviest and awesome outdoor furniture! Had lots for children to do and a game room. Close to downtown Rapid City and a great stop. Even though close to the main road, the noise level was not noticeable. Clean laundry area, bath house was clean. Would stay again!

This was one of the nicest KOA campgrounds we have stayed at so far. The camp hosts were fantastic and were very helpful in our checkin and stay. Bathrooms were very clean and were cleaned several times per day. Showers were fine. There was some road noise from Rt. 44 which was right down the hill but this was not a reason to lower my rating. The pancake breakfast special was delicious, and if you like biscuits and gravy they have done a great job with those as well. There are plenty activities in the campground for kids as well.

This park has alot of stalls and even with all the people, kids, and dogs, I have yet to hear their noises echoing throughout my RV. You would think you are at a remote location by how peaceful it is here. It is well maintained, clean, and very kind. I originally was against KOAs because the ones in Arizona were trashy and like Lord of the Flies, but here it actually changed my mind on them. You are located by alot of restaurants and businesses even within walking distance. Also I am a new RV driver and maneuvering and parking went by very smoothly, so I will be coming back here again

Typical KOA, level sites on the small side. Our neighbor’s tent for his motorcycles was over our sewer hookup. But the most frustrating thing was the WiFi. We could hookup to 3 of the available 4 nodes but couldn’t get to the internet on any of them. I didn’t want to stream TV or movies as requested by the campground but my WiFi extender is activated through the internet. I told the office who said no one else complained so no help. Got a nice map to the bike path to downtown only to find the path blocked because the Central States Fair was going on. Oh well, live and learn.

We stayed at this KOA as a jumping off point to visit Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Badlands National Park and Wind Cave National Park. It’s about an hour drive to any of those from this campground. Overall good experience. Nice level sites, mostly pull through, most had picnic table, fire pit and a tree. it was a little odd that it was set in the city in a seemingly residential area with houses overlooking the campground, but there were no issues with this. It’s close to highway and major roads, but there was very little noise from those. Pool had been closed for remodel, but the remodel had not yet started due to COVID. Staff was super friendly and attentive. Bathrooms and showers were cleaned regularly. Two playgrounds on site was nice for our son. All hookups worked well. WiFi was a little sketchy. One tip, try to enter the campground from the west (left hand turn). The right turn entry is a bit sharp and it would be easy to catch the curb.

Stayed at a pull through for two nights because we needed a driving break. Not noisy. Great access to downtown rapid city but we didn’t leave the RV park to stay Covid safe while traveling. Each spot in our row (60s) had a picnic table with a shady overhang. All sites looked easy to park with no weird directions. Contactless checkin.
