We discovered a pleasant campsite that offered a tranquil overnight stay. The access road to the park, previously mentioned in reviews, wasn't as bad as anticipated. Efforts have been made to smooth out the rough patches, and our 25 ft motorhome navigated it without any issues. The state park is conveniently located near several restaurants and shops for any necessities. The quiet lake, located close to the city, occasionally has plane noise, but we didn't find it disturbing. Many plots are waterfront, so you might want to request one if available. We appreciated the concrete parking pads because our motorhome doesn't have automatic levelers - our vehicle was perfectly level! Our Lot 12 location had ample space between plots. We spotted several egrets on the lake. Despite some barren areas, some grass would be a nice addition, but overall, it's a pleasant campsite that we'd revisit. Each plot has a robust, fixed picnic table on a concrete slab, a fire ring, a barbecue stand, and a sturdy pole for hanging items. We rated it 4 stars and were pleased to have found it. Each camping area has a large central bathhouse with laundry facilities.

We arrived in November for a stopover on our trip to Florida. It’s a cute little campground on a lake next to Jackson MS. It’s isolated but highway noise can be heard in the distance. It has a dated but nice bathhouse with plenty of hot water. The dump station is a little further than I’d like to pull a poo tote. GPS will take you to the nearby science center, so watch for the brown camping signs.

I only managed to get here about 45 minutes before sundown, but it is a lovely campground. Saw a small turtle crossing the road and an egret along the shore. Site 19 has a small concrete pad with 30/50 amp power. Didn’t hook up to water or sewer. There is a dump station. Lots of fishing going on, but I just enjoyed the view. Only about 10 minutes off of I-20. One washer and dryer on the 2nd floor of the bathhouse. There is a ramp and stairs to the 2nd floor. Bathrooms are also upstairs. Clean but stuffy and hot. Only one working toilet in the women’s room. 3 showers but one has no door. Will stay again. $27 on Thursday, 9/22/2022.

Let me start with the warning first. It is July 9th, 2022. They have water hookups at this park but the first thing we saw when we pulled up to the gate was a boil water warning sign. We've had these reservations for over a month but no email, no phone call, and nothing posted on their website about this. The gatekeeper was friendly but the extent of her knowledge of the issue was that the water is "cloudy". Naturally we didn't bring enough water because we thought we would have access to clean water. And no, we were not going to rely on our water filter to keep our tanks from being contaminated. Road in from the gate is about a mile of pothole, dirt and concrete with low hanging branches. Take it slow and if your rig is tall, be careful. Sites are very nice and sit on the lake. Daytime noise from the day use area.

Much to our regret, we did not stay at this park. We had reservations for 3/24-3/26 but received a phone call on 3/22 that the Pearl River was in flood and that the park was now closed. My prepaid reservation was refunded in the form of a voucher that was usable at any Mississippi state park. Using that voucher, we were able to book a stay at Roosevelt SP for the required dates. Staff at Roosevelt said that such flooding at Lafleur's Bluff is quite common.

What a treat to have found this park on our travels! Beautiful lakeside sites with plenty of room between. Hard to believe it’s within city limits. Gated and very quiet given how close everything is. Lots of birds, turtles and squirrels. Bathhouse served its purpose. It was clean but could use some updates. Laundry closed but didn’t need it. Very small campground (20 sites I believe) so plan ahead. Guard at gate was the sweetest ever!!!

Cannot understand all the positive reviews here. Maybe my experience was just an anomaly. LOUD. Road noise. Day park users blasting radios. Train in the distance (not bad). SITES. 20% are under water after a rain (mine, site 3, included). The water side were not impacted by rain. Close together. No privacy. GETTING THERE. loooong road after you go through the gate. It’s pitted. Low hanging branches- just go slow. GATE- note (!!!!!) you get a gate code. It will not work until 2pm. They don’t tell you that anywhere. Arrived at 12:30, couldn’t get in. No one at the building. Called, vm said to call the numbers on the door. First number- no answer but they texted to tell me to text them. I did. No response for 10 min. I tried again. Nothing. Tried the 2nd number- it’s a call service, who said they would have the manager call me. Waited. Nothing. Finally- I bought a day pass from the kiosk at the gate to get in. Got set up in a puddle of water, and after about an hour later got a call back to tell me it doesn’t work until 2. No apology. No reimbursement of having to buy a day pass to get in. CAMP. Garbage is a dumpster about a half mile from camp. Says it has laundry but the machines have been removed. Facilities are old. That said, the lake sites are beautiful. Gorgeous day park area. Camp doesn’t have any place to walk around- have to walk the camp road to the day park area to wander. CELL. Is fantastic. Verizon 19 down, 13.9 up. ATT 135.5 down 29.6 up.

Jackson MS LeFleur's Bluff SP Small state park with 30 sites w/e only on small lake. Large sites with concrete pads. Picnic tables and grills in good shape. Many sites on lake front. Lots of mature trees. You are allowed to gather downed wood to use in fire pit. Gate code access. Nice playground. Disc golf course. Bathouse needs some attention. Only one of 3 stalls works in womens side. There are 2 shower stalls. One small and the larger handicap access one has stained floor. There's a nature trail on site. Two boat ramps one gives access to Pearl River. Campground located next to Mississippi Museum of Natural History, a Children's Museum, Ag Museum and a golf course too. Great location to explore Jackson MS.

A little muddy but it had snowed earlier. Level site, hookups handy, bathhouse nearby. Shout out to Marilyn camp just/ranger for being so helpful.

Stopped here on my way South over NYE. NYE fireworks are distant enough for a dog not to get scared. Beautiful lake, the park now also offers very cute TENTRR “glamping” tents that come conveniently equipped with stove, bed etc. The scenic RV sites overlook the lake, are level, have fresh water, picnic benches, fire pit and 30/50/110v electricity. No dump at the site but central dump station on the way out. Definitely recommend!

We arrived too early and couldn’t use our gate code and almost stuck at the entrance but a nice gentleman behind us let us use his code.

This is a nice state park, especially for being in the middle of a city. We were disappointed that pets weren’t allowed on the nature trail since our pup loves his walks. That alone will keep us from coming back. Pretty much standard fare for a state park otherwise. Plenty of space between sites. Bathrooms ok from Our checking on them, although we did not use them. GREAT AT&T cell service. Over 100mb down and 17mb up.

This is a jewel of a campground in the middle of a city. Our site was perfect and any of the sites against the plane are so nice. Ours was the last one on loop so great. The walks are great around the campground. We were passing through and was perfect and easy to get to.

We were overnighters and had a good experience. The lake was quiet and still, wish we had time to get the kayaks out. There's an easy trail that goes from the campground to the children's museum. Easy in and out nothing fancy but totally pleasant place to stay.
