Avoid visiting this location unless you possess a vehicle suitable for rough terrains and intend to camp within your vehicle only. My travel trailer's stairs and stabilizer were damaged while attempting to exit the initial camping zone. I hope my misfortune serves as a warning to others.

Couldn't beat its proximity to Rocky Mountain National Park. Heads up that you have to drive through a lot of private land before finding this spot, so don't give up -- you'll get there! We were there on a rainy Saturday night and encountered only a few other campers.

We were able to get our extended length Transit van to this spot so pretty much any vehicle can make it. If you use gps, don’t follow it down Sutherland Rd. This is an unnecessary “short cut” down a private road truly meant for more capable vehicles. Keep to the left, skip Fisk-Fenner Rd, and continue on Cabin Creek Rd to get to 82E. This is a popular spot for off-road vehicles so there will be people and loud vehicles coming and going dawn to dusk, but they keep to themselves. We found two flat spots, the rest are mostly on an incline.

A bit rocky to access, but not terrible. Recommend four wheel drive to get back to more remote sites with best views. We stayed in a more populated, accessible site under pines and it was still pretty nice. Not too hard to find a spot, but fairly full.

Acess road a bit sketchy, otherwise outstanding site for cowboy camping.

Would not recommend driving a small car, there were muddy potholes that a small car would get stuck in. Also would not recommend coming in at night, GPS brought us down the wrong road and it would’ve been much easier to find in the daylight. The actual campsite had pretty views, had plenty of spots, and was generally private. We ended up coming back for a second night because of its proximity to the National Park.

This is the only Forest Service road in the Estes Park area that is passable by low-clearance vehicles and allows dispersed camping. All other FS roads that allow dispersed camping requires a high-clearance 4WD vehicle, as the road conditions are very poor, with washouts, large rocks in the road, and deep ruts. This site has a small D shaped camping area that can accommodate passenger cars, tents, camper vans, and possibly small RVs or trailers. No large RVs will fit in this site. It appears to have room for at least 6 pull-in spots — no official camp pads or designated spots. Some spots have rock fire rings that people have made, but fire bans may be in effect. The roads leading to this site are dirt roads but are very smooth and easily driveable, with no steep grades. This campsite is dispersed with no water, no toilets, no water, no hookups, and no trash receptacles. No cell service within 4 miles on AT&T. Very remote and quiet, with easy access to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park.
