Camp hosts were nice enough. The area is too noisy with road traffic going to Big Lake, and ATVs and trucks were coming and going all day long. The site I had was not level, despite adding 4inches under my wheels. After the first night I left to boondock along the easily accessible forest roads. And the camp host would not refund the fee I paid for the unused 2nd night, which was a bit dodgy.

We had a great 4 night stay. Very quiet and beautiful mountain surroundings. Caught a few fish and had a fish fry! We were in site 14 and our kids were in site 15 so we could be close. Our camper is 30ft and theirs is 34ft and we both fit really well. This campground is a little more secluded and private than some of the others in the area. We used a WeBoost cellular booster with a Verizon hotspot and we were able to get enough signal to check email, etc. We were told only Verizon works in this area. Our phones are all AT&T and we occasionally got a bar or two on 3G when right next to the cell phone booster.

There was a great deal to recommend this site. It was beautiful, there was a flush toilet, the hosts were helpful, we saw plenty of wildlife, and the sites are very close to the Big Lake. For someone with a smaller rig, I would highly recommend it. The biggest downside for us was the sites are not designed for a fifth wheel our size which made parking into the site a bit challenging and required a considerable amount of leveling. If we were in a smaller pull-behind or tents, I would 100% recommend Grayling.

We had a great time at this campground. It’s walking distance to Big Lake and we also saw a lot of deer. We visited during the summer and had perfect weather. The area is just stunning! (Water (no hook ups) and trash service available)
