Dove Springs OHV Area en los Estados Unidos

We accessed the Dove Springs OHV zone via an entry point from the highway, named SC103. The road was broad and well-maintained. We proceeded until we encountered another road, LA2 (also known as New Aqueduct Rd according to Google) where we turned right. This road too was in good condition and it leads you away from Dove Springs and towards Jawbone. Along this route, you'll discover numerous camping spots (around 20 or more) on either side of the road. These are large, open spaces, clearly visible on satellite imagery of the region. Typically, during weekends, these spaces are occupied by large groups of RVs, indicating their ample size. If you persist on SC103, following the coordinates provided by Campedium, you'll find a few more camping spots, but they're usually occupied, especially during weekends. The road surface becomes sandy at this point. There are a few pit toilets available along this road, but the sandy conditions persist. We observed several rigs in the area during our ride, which could be concerning for larger vehicles, despite our adventurous spirit! We visited on a weekend and were pleasantly surprised by the calm atmosphere and less litter than anticipated. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and it was a delight to return after several years. Be prepared for windy conditions. I suggest installing the Avenza Maps app and downloading the free FOJ Jawbone OHV Map if you're planning to ride. This can sync with your phone's GPS to provide your location, irrespective of cell service availability. This map includes all the main roads and trails, covering the entire region on both sides of the highway.

Have stayed here many times. Off road enthusiasts are the main people that camp here. Camping is dispersed with a few areas to get out of the wind, and yes it does get windy. Miles of trails and roads for riding. The Pacific Crest Trail runs through the area for hiking. The camping area is also just down the road from Red Rock Canyon State Park which offers hiking and fabulous formations to photograph. As an off roader we never get bored here and are always finding new trails and places to ride. We always find a secluded place to camp and rarely need four wheel drive to get to our spot. Have seen small RV's all the way up to big diesel pushers camped here. Scout out the roads before traveling as during winter sometimes they can be muddy and you may get stuck. Lots of areas with fire rings but bring your own wood. Very few vault toilets and sometimes water is available at the state park.

We had a great view in all directions from our site on a knoll. And I agree what others said other than I heard no firearms at all and no OHV after dark. I did have morons who thought it was OK to just ride through my campsite though. BUT compared to a campground with other campers just feet away, this was great. We were here over Christmas and it was pretty busy

This area is very windy at times. Lots of riders and other side by side buggys. It is very undeveloped and sites are randomly scattered throughout the area. Aqueduct and powerlines cross the area. Some campers are unruly and loud. Nighttime riders can be loud. If you go in this area you have to expect the noise of off-road vehicles at all hours. The road is rough but 5ers can make it. Also frequently folks will shoot guns and fireworks so if your dog isn’t comfortable with that leave the dog home. But for free the area is great.
